My step-son comes to stay with us all weekend every weekend. This morning we picked him up & he asked to get his mum a birthday card & present as it is her b'day tomorrow, he had even brought some money of his own. He is 6 years old. His relationship with his mum has always been fraught. So much so that he asked Santa for a new mum last Xmas. Lately though, as he has got older & easier for her to manage, things have started to change. Today has broken my heart. Am I wrong because of this? Don't get me wrong, I have no intention of not taking him to get her a card & present, and I put a brave face on in front of him. She's his mum & that is something I must always deal with no matter what she has done to him or what she has put us through with her drug abuse & disappearing acts when she didn't want him around. We thought she may want him back early tomorrow with it being her b'day but instead she has asked that we take him home just before bed-time - some mum! Am I wrong to be hurting?

I travel a lot to other countries sometimes India or China or Europe. I live in US. I have a laptop which is run off a router from my desktop currently. Could someone explain how it would be possible for me to take it on my next trip?

I have tried talking to them about this to work it out instead of handling it badly but they are stubborn and won't admit that they do anything wrong. my roommates just drive me crazy and they are sooooo messy. they never clean up after themselves, they always trash the house, never help to clean, or wash dishes. they do so many selfish things what can i do to get them back for it?

When I was in high school I was fat and out of shape with glasses and was nerdy as I went away to college I did more for myself. I put on a lot of muscle and burned the fat and I dress with the best urban styles. i tell my bf everyday that i love him, but according to the bible, i actually don't. the bible says that jealousy is evil and that it rots the bones. jealousy is selfiishness, so i know that i don't like him enough to be fine with him going out with the person i am jealous of.

this boy is very handsome. i talk to him on the phone all the time since we cant see each other evryday (we have different schools) and he usually makes me very happy. but you know what, i'm just really sick of being envious of that girl.sometimes, i think he tries to make me jealous... he thinks i like 6 other boys!

p.s - shouldn't i just end this relationship of 4 months? it seems like we are just friends.i will miss calling him all those cute names though = (

My ex-husband had moved to another state due to job reasons. I live in another state. We have a 14 year old daughter. He left her and moved to the other state. I think that he assumed that I would come back and take her or his mother would take care of her.

I have left my job and come back to try and take my daughter back with me. However, my mother-in-law thinks that I want to work things out with my ex-husband and keeps pushing me to try and stay.

I am not interested in my ex-husband because he is pushy, controlling and manipulative. My mother-in-law is the same way. They both try to micromanage each issue.

I have asked my daughter to decide if she wants to come back with me.

How do I respond to my pushy mother-in-law? She keeps making me feel bad in that I don't have a companion or house of my own.

If I leave without my daughter though, she will suffer.

I got the book Bridal Bargains from the library. In the book, they suggest that you go to bridalgown.com to get price quotes on a dress. I know the dress that I want (designer & style #), so I did it. Well a "prescreened gown discounter" emailed me today and said that they can get me the dress for $935 + shipping. If I go to the trunk show of an authorized bridal shop it would be about $1200.

Has anyone used bridalgown.com? and bought a dress from it? what would you do if you were in my place?
