As i am a shy lady and have llittle luck with guys even though im attractive. When i go out with the girls its always them who get chatted up due to my lack of confidence etc

Try to get involved in something where your shyness will not matter. Join in something where the focus is on the activity rather than getting chatted up. Voluntary work or a night class (mechanics??) might just do the trick.

If you are attractive, maybe you need a freshening up makeover that will make you feel a little better about yourself.
You have to look inward to see why you lack confidence.
Shy is one thing but...
Do you feel like you are boring? Read more or watch news.
Are you self conscious about your laugh, your teeth or your breath? (I went to school with a knock out who had dragon breath and wondered why guys would NOT speak with her...I gave her mints.)
Do you have bad posture that contributes to your shyness? Work out and lift weights to improve that.
Maybe you just need to relax and don't put pressure on yourself... I know it sounds simplistic but people pick up on 'vibes' like that... maybe you really don't want to be spoken to when you are out and therefore are projecting that 'aura'. Something to think about right?
Besides, I don't think you really want to be a "man magnet" or are ready to be. To start, maybe you should specify your 'desire' to something like...
"I want to meet a gentlemen who is witty, kind, polite, generous and not unfortunate looking."
To me a "man magnet" means any schlep or scag would be included to come to approach you. Being shy you don't want to deal with those losers.
Just go out and have a nice time with your friends, relax and be open (and cautious because of your timidness). Be yourself too...no pressure.
It'll happen when the time is right...it really will.

Ive been there and it was the worst time of my life.. tyou end up with everything and then nothing.. look for true love and not lust.. why be a heartbreaker when you can be a heart mender?

Truthfully there really is no magic formulae for attracting men. But I know many fellas ( and I agree), basically they like their women to be feminine and lady like. So mind your P's and Q's.

i am also shy, but have pushed myself into going to niteclubs alone, im not interested in finding any1 as im happily married, just like 2 socialise, but i seem to be a magnet!
