Olympia, Washington) Proponents of same-sex marriage have introduced a ballot measure that would require heterosexual couples to have a child within three years or have their marriages annulled.

The Washington Defense of Marriage Alliance acknowledged on its Web site that the initiative was "absurd" but hoped the idea prompts "discussion about the many misguided assumptions" underlying a state Supreme Court ruling that upheld a ban on same-sex marriage.

The measure would require couples to prove they can have children to get a marriage license. Couples who do not have children within three years could have their marriages annulled.

All other marriages would be defined as "unrecognized," making those couples ineligible for marriage benefits.

The paperwork for the measure was submitted last month. Supporters must gather at least 224,800 signatures by July 6 to put it on the November ballot.

The group said the proposal was aimed at "social conservatives who have long screamed that marriage exists for the sole purpose of procreation."

Cheryl Haskins, executive director of Allies for Marriage and Children, said opponents of same-sex marriage want only to preserve marriage as the union of a man and a woman.

"Some of those unions produce children and some of them don't," she said

Before judging me, read this please. This is not one of those stupid feelings that when one might see an actor or an actress in the movie and imagines himself having sex with. I swear this is diffrent. it's kind of bizzare, i have never been in love with some one, so i don't know how that feels but i truly like her. Because i know how that feels to like someone a lot.
My only friend first thought iam just kidding when i told him but later once he noticed that i am really serious he has been keeping teliing to me "be realistic, that's not gonne happen". I know that, but what can i do? I don't wanna see anyone else but her! PLZ give a good recommendation.

I love her and hate myself for still loving her after I found her passionate love letter to her batchmate, after 14 years of marriage and two great kids who we love very much. She is remorseful and my mood swings between regret for my past sins and misery. We been talking together as it is a matter of honour and she said she is proud of me for having got over the issue so easily. Her parents responded byasking her to get out of her sister's house where she is staying for the last one year for career purpose, and they along with her sister, the only few people who knew this matter, are not lending her any emotional support to her. As I am lot worried about her, I been with her all along for the past couple of weeks, confessing my mistakes and realising that she really has never thought of leaving me. When I called her parents not to put pressure on her, they said they would rather appreciate her, as I am loser. She feels bad about this as I do. How can I get rid of their evil influence

A friend of mine (he's in his fifties) commented to me how "bad" it looked when I cuddled with a buddy of mine in public. My buddy and I aren't dating, but we're still close friends, so I didn't see the problem. I'm in my twenties, so I thought maybe it was a generation thing or something, but I've been asking around at work, with people with all different ages, and they all agree with me. Does cuddling really look bad in public? It's not like I had my hands in his pants or anything, it was simple hand holding and occassionally the arm around the shoulders. Is my friend overreacting, overanalyzing our relationship, or just plain jealous? What do other people think of cuddling in public?

ok, so i've been saving to go on this trip with my girlfriend and her family to europe this summer. and i couldnt afford to take the whole trip, so i was going to meet up with them for a couple of weeks.

I told my parents i finally had the money all saved up (we've been plaining this since september.) and tonight they decided they didnt want me to go!!

I really dont want to have to say goodbye for three months, let alone spend my entire summer without her.

and for all of you adults saying psh, thats nothing...when you're 17 years old, when you're 17 and your girlfriend says she's leaving for three months, she might as well tell you shes dying.

and please dont suggest that i break up with her (we've been dating a year, and things are perfect, its just not an option)

Okay... So I've been going out with this one guy for a while. This is my first long-term, steady relationship. I've gone out with other guys, but nothing has been this serious and most of my previous relationships were really casual.

I really, really like this guy, but sometimes I feel freaked out when he says things like "always" and plans things really far in advance. I'm just freaked out because I don't know if I can or want to be with him forever. I'm not sure if I want this to be "it."

I feel really comfortable with him, and I don't want to lose that feeling, but part of me doesn't want to be limited to just this.

Are my feelings normal? Is it just a commitment problem? Is it okay for me to not want to think that far ahead? If not, how can I figure any of this out and deal with it?

OK. So yeah, I met her on Saturday night, exchanged numbers, etc. And now, I'm kinda wondering when I should call her. FYI, we're in college. So I'm wondering when I should call her, Thursday or Friday? I'm thinking maybe Thursday night or something? I don't know, I'm kinda confused.
