My family is the most judgemental bunch I've ever met,and half of the time Im the target. Ive pointed this out several times but it doesnt help at all..so how would you deal with this when confrontation doesnt work? I know I should "just ignore it" which is easy when its strangers but when its your own family its a bit more difficult. Here are some examples of what Im talking about.

- When I was 17 I decided to become a vegetarian. at 19 I changed my mind but only started eating chicken and fish again. Im 24 now and to this day at EVERY family function someone brings up the fact that I dont eat a lot of meat and they call me some freak animal lover. My sister will offer me something with beef and I'll simply say no thanks and she gets all pissy and says oh i forgot, you're weird.
-Im into piercings and tattoos and theyre not, so they always make fun of my body modifcation choices and tell me how ugly they are all the time.

He recently had to move away because of work and college and I couldn't go with because of the same reason. Our six month anniversary is a big deal to him and I want to get him something very special for it.... any ideas? I was going to go visit him but because of work I can't... This ex of mine that never pitched for our reunion, never even called or e mailed, just recently sent an e mail today after more than two weeks. It just says ‘hi, look at me in action.’ Has his pic attached. Should I reply or just ignore it. I was really disappointed when he did not come and did not bother to explain.

About 2 months ago my husband of 3 years lost his mother in a car accident.At the time I was overseas in the UK working on a business deal.He asked me to fly back but when I tried explaining to him that I had to stay for another 2 weeks to close this huge deal he hung up on me.I could have let someone else close the deal but I wasn't about to let someone else take credit for my work.I've been back for 6 weeks now and things have been very strained between us.I hate this and if I can't make him understand I'll have no choice but to leave him.How do I get through to him? He's civil enough but barely looks me in the eye anymore.I'm barely ever home due to work and when I am we barely talk let alone do anything else.I did what I had to do,why won't he get that?He survived his mother's death without me just fine so why won't he just forgive me?

This girl i like very much is planning 2 go 2 Africa with a few of her friends 2 go and do some volunteer work and they need a guy 2 go along with them. The thing is i'm thinking of going but not only 2 volunteer;i'm hoping that it would bring us closer as friends cause this friendship didnt start on the right foot. Also i'm not sure but i think she knows that i like her.I don't have a problem with going to Africa. Is it still a good idea?

I want to go away to nyc for four nights with my sister and friend and my husband says no because he doesnt want to mind the kids that long..so i asked my other sister to take them for 2 nights for me she is but my husband still refuses to let me go saying i should from dublin to nyc for 2 nights is he being unreasonable? should i just go anyway and let him suffer with them alone? i gave up work and college to mind our kids what more does he want from me

I'm kinda enduring an awkward situation at work. One of my closest guy friends works at the same place as I do and I began to develop feelings for him though he has a gf. I told him I liked him and I felt it was best that we ignore each other for awhile so I can get over him. Anyway he asked me if I wanted to hook up with him, i said i did, but then he said i should do it with another guy I like. Anyway during all of this, I got mad at him for jerking my feelings around and I ended up calling him a dog, but then I apologized. The thing is I said all of this via text. The next day I wrote him a letter saying how sorry I was for how I acted, and that it was better that we treat each other as professionals since he has a gf and I need to move on. He ignored me and we've been ignoring each other for the past 3 weeks and now it is awkward and i miss talking to him sometimes. Yesterday, I got a b-day card from some of my coworkers. He wrote Happy Birthday, but didn't sign his name.

My mother and father are supporting my brother, his wife, her mother, and their two kids... this is putting my parents in a stressful financial situation. They are depressed and my mother was in the hospital for a suspected heart attack after arguing with my brother about bills. they are asking me for money and i dont want to pay for him i have my own bills. he is older than me too. I dont know how to tell them they are adding to the problem rather than fixing it by giving him money. Any advice on how to address the situation...

This guy and I have been, for the past week, hanging out as often as we can. We stay up real late at night just talking, sometimes with friends, sometimes just us. Yesterday he came over after class. When he was leaving he told me that he was going to either take a nap, watch a movie, or go to the store. He said if he was going to watch a movie it would be The Patriot (which just so happens to be one of my favorite movies.. I had brought up in a recent convo). He asked if I would be interested. I agreed and he said he would im me when he figured it out. Not even 5 minutes later he ims me and asks if I want to watch the movie with him. 3 hours later when the movie ends he asks if I want to go to dinner with him. Later that night he finds me in my friends room and there was a lot of skin contact! I don't know whether to consider that a date or just 2 friends hanging out. I think its pretty obvious that I like him, and I'm pretty sure he likes me. What should I do? Talk to him.. or not?
