My friend (mom of 3) is getting divorced and I am worried about how she is handling the situation with her kids. As of now, her ex sees the kids Mon eves, Wed eves and Friday eve-Sat morn. He's living @ a friend's house so he has visitation at my friend's home. (She leaves and returns home when he is supposed to go.)Sometimes she lets him spend Mon or Wed night (on the couch). Also, he's having knee surgery next month and is moving back into her home for a while so he can recuperate from his surgery. I think this is a bad situation for the kids. Confusing them, sending wrong messages, etc. She thinks it's not going to harm them for life so-no big deal. When I voiced my concern, she got offended and said to stop trying to control her. I want what's best for her and the kids and allowing her ex to use her is a bad example for the kids. What can I tell her to let her know the kids can't handle the inconsistency with dad coming back then leaving again? Her kids are 6, 4 and 1.

I am planning to call her to watch a movie together or if possible, go to disneyland. Should I give her something like a greeting card that says, I love you.

My girlfriend and I have been separated for 2 weeks - it was a choice we made to sort some things out. But we are getting back together Friday and going somewhere together. Am we allowed to feel bitter and resentful even if not directly vocal about this towards them? Is it acceptable to feel pangs of contentment and happiness whenever some tragedy or other befalls them?

There is this guy I liked (note I say liked, not like!), we'd liked each other for about six months, and he finally asked for my number a few saturdays ago, and walked me home, was really nice etc. he took me out for drinks a few days later, it was fun. He contacted me the next day to say he had a great time, and that he would see me the next night if I was out. Then, when I did see him the next night he was doing the whole "playing it cool" thing, didn't hardly talk to me. Finally, the next night I was at the pub with my parents for dinner, and he walks in with this other girl!! I went to the bar by myself to get a drink just in case he didn't want to say hi cos my dad was there, but he didn't even bother, and I've not heard from him since! I'm not THAT bothered, just curious why he would bother to take me out and say he had a great time etc. and then be all funny! This girl he was with looked like she was just a friend, they didn't look like bf/gf...! (could have been I guess!)

Me and a friend became very close, and became very attracted to one another, i made a few jokes about sleeping with him (we often flirted) so it wasnt out of the norm. Next time i saw him he flirted with me a little but then started to avoid me, why the change. Is this his way of saying nothing is going to happen or is he going through somthing i dont know about?

I've been friends with this guy for three years and he moved states a year ago. He had a girlfriend when we started hanging out and i stupidly feel for him. She broke up with him last year but our friendship has always been blurry. i get nervous around him and all my friends say he gets that way too. Now he's told me he's coming to town but i don't think we should see each other; ever! we have nicknames for each other and make each other laugh as well as confide in each other on almost everything but i can't help but feel that there is tension or something that we are avoiding to talk about, especially him. i'm confused and am not willing to get my heart broken as i fear tha he is the only person who knows me well enough to hurt me and he does sometimes. how do put distance between us without letting him know why.

I have a friend, well I say friend, I mean someone I put up with, who lives in a complete fantasy world, for example he claims he is going to have a threesome and also thinks he is better at darts than me. I'm writing a poem that I'm thinking about putting in my blog on myspace. The thing is it's about someone that is on my friends list and I'm not sure that I should post it. I know it sounds simple and that I should just not post it if I have reservations or set it to private. I've always been an honest and up front person. Even when it comes to my heart. But I've been hurt resently and I find my self(against my wishes) falling for someone again. I'm falling for a different person. I can stay friends with the other guy, but the thought of getting back together is far from my mind. And I just really want to be careful this time. I'm not sure if I want to be so telling so soon.
