Me and a friend became very close, and became very attracted to one another, i made a few jokes about sleeping with him (we often flirted) so it wasnt out of the norm. Next time i saw him he flirted with me a little but then started to avoid me, why the change. Is this his way of saying nothing is going to happen or is he going through somthing i dont know about?

Best way is to ask him.
Maybe he thinks you should just be friends. But no one but himself call tell youfor certain.

Maybe he thinks the flirting went a bit too far. Just back off a bit on the flirting.

if a person flirts then avoids you it could be because they really like you but are scared to be overly enthusiastic in case they seem desperate.. or they are trying to find a way to ask you out or they could be scared of changing your relationship cos if it doesnt work out you lose a friend too...

your comments probably made him feel a little uncomfortable. explain to him that you were just joking around, and if that made him feel uncomfortable, then your sorry and won't joke like that again.
