Yesterday, my mother invited me and my fiance, Jordan, for dinner. It started out ok. We were just talking about football and other things until my mom got on the topic of "us". She asked if we have ever kissed. I answered yes, and my mother got furious. She said I can't kiss him anymore because we're Atheists and he's a Catholic. I Cannot beleive this.

Also, on another topic, she forbids me to shave my legs. She is afraid that I will get skin cancer.

What should I tell her to get my freedome back? I am 22 years old. I have no idea what is happenening to my life

I dated this great guy who I thought was my soul mate. We got along in every aspect. We really liked each other and eventually told each other that we loved each other. We talked about how we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and everything. Then last month, he started to act funny. I wondered what was going on. I questioned him and even asked him outright, if he was interested in someone else. He told me I was insecure and didn't know if he could be with someone insecure. So, for weeks, we went back and forth with him telling me he loved me and then saying he was confused, until a couple weeks ago, he broke up with me. I found out later, that the ex girlfriend of 1 1/2 years, asked him to get back together, the same time he started to act funny. They were apart for 6 months when we started to date and he assured me he was over her.They had a bad relationship, and broke up several times. Now he says, he never got over her. I want him back. What should I do?

I used to date this guy what was half blk/wht...my aunt never really approved of him. the problem is i found out she voiced her opinion to others of the family instead of me. the guy and i are broke up now..its been a couple of years...but i still cant help to be mad at her for goin around me and talking to other about it instead of to me. i am 30yrs old and can stand up for myself. Not to mention she has voiced her thoughts about other stuff in my life to everyone but me. My mom says i should not hold a grudge, but i cant help it and now my mom expects me to fly to Conneticut for Christmas and says oh btw...your aunt is goin to be there, but asked me to civil around her...I hate racial people. They just come across as stupid.

What would you do? I just don't like her being 2-faced like that and don't want to be around her to hear the criticism about how I live my life, etc. later on. Nor have my kids exposed to it.

I found out that my husband has female friends, by snooping in his cell phone, he swear their only friends, however do u think if he knew I talk to one of his homeboy on the phone every now and then he would be mad, we are friends, of course thru my husband, but we just seem to click. Ok, so the thing is, I am a 16 year-old-girl, and I keep track of my life in a personal journal. Over heard my mom talking to her friend on the phone yesterday. This is what I heard my mom say... "and I was reading Misty's journal like I ususally do when she's at school... turns out that she already had her first kiss... she's not even that pretty, it upsets me that a guy would press his lips against hers..." I only heard one end. I guess my mom didn't realize I was awake in my bed when she was putting my laundry away.

This has hurt me beyond words. First of all, I don't hide much from my mom, but of course I didn't tell her the second a guy kissed me... also, she called my "not very pretty".

My mom doesn't know that I heard her. What should I do?

My fiance and I are planning our wedding (deposits paid etc for space) and I still don't have my engagment ring. I love him dearly and he loves me and I know he'll marry me one way or the other. But everytime I tell someone I'm getting married they look at my naked left hand, though most don't say anything about it. I feel silly getting upset over such a small thing, but I can't help it. and hang out with my toddler son. Her son is 6 and really destructive by the way. I have given her excuse after excuse as to why I don't want to hang out with her son (I want a ladies day out, etc.) when the real reason is I do not like how he acts. I do not want him anywhere near my son or my possessions. I don't want to offend her but then again I really don't want him over at my place! How can I get her to drop this stupid idea?

So.. my aunt had an affair with our coworker.. My aunts married for 20 something years [since she was 18] and the guy she cheated w/ works in our office and has a wife, who was PREGNANT at the time he was f*cking my aunt. My aunts husband is the nicest guy in the world, and our whole family loves him. We'd be devastated if he wasn't in our family. Now everyone in our family knows what happened- besides my grandpa and no ones has told her husband and we all feel guilty. We dont care much for our aunt... but we dont want to hurt her husbands feelings. ALSO when her husband went out of town w/ their kids she had a one night stand.. im the only one who knows about this. We feel like we need to tell him.. but don't know if we should?? We're all tired of the lies... what do you think we should do??

She got fired from our company, but is now going to work for the guy she had or is having an affair with? Now i feel obligated to tell

I moved back in with my mother after I graduated college, and have been there for a little over a year. She is extremely overprotective and treats me like I'm 15. She is constantly angry at me and telling me what a horrible human being I am, even though I have a job, and I'm in a good relationship, and I help out around the house every day. My boyfriend cannot stand how she treats me, and that we are extremely limited in the amount of time we can spend with each other. He wants me to move in with him, but I don't know how to tell my mother without her turning the situation around on me. Should I just leave? Or try to have an adult conversation, which I know will turn into a fight?
