I always thought that about my mum, everything she said and did wound me up, but when I look back now she was scarily right all of the time and I really regret being so horrible to her and not listening to the things she told me.
But everyone needs a good winge from time to time no matter what!

Know where you're coming from, just wait for the day you leave home (assume you live there or you could avoid her!) then you realise just how much ace stuff your mum does for you. Sounds corny I know but it is so true. I try really hard to run my home but wish every day my mum was on hand to sort things out. Mothers are the best and most useful people on the planet. Its their right to be a pain in the rear, I promise you you are a bigger pain in hers!!

Mothers are not a pain in the rear! My Mum passed away when i was 14 and I would give anything in the world to have her here with me. You shouldn't be whinging about your mother, you should be on your knees thanking God that you have someone in your life that loves you unconditionally. Believe if she wasn't around it would leave a gaping void in your life and nothing and no one could ever fill. So next time you want to complain about the woman who gave you life, perhaps you should spare a thought for the people in this world not as fortunate as you to have their mothers with them!

Because they look out for your best interests(if she is a good mother). Respect your mother because, when she's gone, you'll realize how much you wish she was back. If you think your mom is a pain in the rear, wait till you get married & have a mother-in-law to deal with. Then you'll know the meaning of pain in the rear.

My Moms not a pain, she loves me and wife and kids, she helps us out no end, I dont know what we would do without her or my Dad. Dont take her for granted, she wont be around forever, if she really is being a bit of a pain, I bet its only because she worries about you. I sure you dont mean what you say, Go and give her a hug right now... best wishes

They just want to make sure you're safe, though can sometimes get a little over-concerned. it doesn't help that parents are pressurised into ensuring that every possible risk is removed else be 'bad parents', or that society often makes us compare ourselves to models of selfless parents. if yours is a problem, just sit down, explain how you feel, and take practical steps to show how trustworthy you are (e.g. get a job- it gives you money, gets you out of the house and proves your responsibility).
Hope that's some use.

It's difficult to answer, being a mother, not knowing what she is being a pain about.
Could it be you think this because she has set bounderies and rules around things you can and can't do? This is called loving you, and you shuld be thankful instead of resentful, when you have children of your own, if you should be so blessed you will understand.

yes we deffinatley have our moments but than again all kids do to. we parents were the same as you when you are growing up and so we are trying to keep you away fron the danger we had. however i also see your point. i am a mother of 2 and only 26 years of age. my parents are still pains. in the future you will look back and say to your self "they were right i did deserve it" so... it does go both ways!! good luck in your growing up!

Sadly some people realise too late that mum knows best sometimes. She may be a pain but only coz she loves you and cares. One day you'll need her and she may not be there - it hurts believe me !!!! I'd rather have my mum being a pain than not at all - sadly I dont have the choice. xx
