My 16 year old always insists on wearing ripped up and unflattering clothing, which she insists is stylish. Whenever I take her to family gatherings, or dinner parties at friends' houses, my husband and I are always embarrassed by her choice in clothing and we end up having a huge argument with her. My husband is a respectable doctor in our community and she always chooses to dress as if she's on welfare. I always buy her expensive clothing, but she tells me she would rather go to the thrift store and buy used clothes. How can I get her to look more presentable in public?

I am a happily married 22 year old. We just happen to live with my parents. My mom feels that it is ok to just walk in the bathroom when I am taking a shower. I feel that this is an invasion of privacy. Should I confront her? If so, how should I?

Okay, so he asked me to Homecoming, but now he shows signs of "physiphobia". Do you think it's gonna be a problem?

married almost 13 years. i am catholic with four children. my husband and i argue all the time about everything. i have been with this man since 19 years old. as soon as i graduated from college we married. i feel that i am not truly happy and i feel life has more to offer both of us but not togeither. i told him we need a break from each other he states that he is not going anywhere. meanwhile i am the primary caretaker for the children because he works 3p to 11p monday thru friday. should i just go through life with my feelings of regret or should i try and move on. counseling is not an option we've done that before on another situation.

What is "normal" when you live 45 minutes away..?
My mom does not hesitate to drive up (unannounced!) at least once a month.
My dad, though, NEVER initiates contact, YOU have to contact HIM, or..... it doesn't happen.
Should I make the effort to see him as often as mom sees us? (divorced)
My sister and I gave up several years ago, but I want to try again. What would you guys do? Once a month? Once a week? Call every day? We've been so out of the land of family normalcy (long story) I don't know what's normal any more.
Thanks in advance!
Be wise and kind.

i really want my X -best friend back... he was the funniest, most cheerful guy i'd ever meet. and i blew it. i told him that i felt that he was ignoring me and he didn't want to be my friend anymore. is it my fault??? or is he being childish? i really cant tell. but i've been so busy beating myself up about it, i never have any time to think about all the good things i have to look forward to. (i cant think of anything but i'm sure their there)

"My Greatest wish for the two of you is that through the years your love for each other will so deepen and grow, that years from now you will look back on this day, your wedding day, as the day you loved each other the least."

I have been the brides best friend for 10 years, and am her matron of honor, so I have to make a speech and am wondering what you guys think of that quote to end my speech with. thanks!
