i have a friend who i asked out a year ago but she said no. i asked her 5 days after her bf broke up with her. since then we hang out even more tho. we go to movies, dinner, and even a picnic alone. she pays for herself tho. so my question is what have we been doing? i dont do these things with my other friends who are girls. should i try asking her out again? im very confused about it and i care about her A LOT.

If she pays for herself, then no - the places you go are not dates.

She might see you as a friend, but I see nothing wrong with talking to her about your feelings. Ask her how she feels about you and if she could ever see you as more than a friend.

she might not have been ready a year ago. but it seems like you 2 are becoming quite close. so i think you should try asking her out again and if she says no then you know not to ask her anymore..if she wants you she'll ask you.
