Someone called me a "faker." Should I take offense? is this mean?

Of course it is mean but you could view it as a learning curve.
Examine the circumstances and decide if it's true you are a faker (someone or something not genuine) or if it was an unwarranted accusation and in future act accordingly.

I think so. When I hear someone being called "fake2 its usually an insult.

It would depend on the situation. What were you faking? Like, trying to be something you're not?

you must not have been called anything worse....i would say thanks, considering the other things i've been called at some point in time
