What is "normal" when you live 45 minutes away..?
My mom does not hesitate to drive up (unannounced!) at least once a month.
My dad, though, NEVER initiates contact, YOU have to contact HIM, or..... it doesn't happen.
Should I make the effort to see him as often as mom sees us? (divorced)
My sister and I gave up several years ago, but I want to try again. What would you guys do? Once a month? Once a week? Call every day? We've been so out of the land of family normalcy (long story) I don't know what's normal any more.
Thanks in advance!
Be wise and kind.

Try not to think of what you OUGHT to do, but rather what you would LIKE to do. There is no right or wrong here. Go with your feelings.

Start out by calling him & make plans on getting together & then you both decided on whats best for you two.

Just call him & tell him you'd like to see him & ask when would be a good time to visit. When you're there ask him to visit you soon & see what happens.
