"My Greatest wish for the two of you is that through the years your love for each other will so deepen and grow, that years from now you will look back on this day, your wedding day, as the day you loved each other the least."

I have been the brides best friend for 10 years, and am her matron of honor, so I have to make a speech and am wondering what you guys think of that quote to end my speech with. thanks!

that years from now you will look back on this day, your wedding day, and realize you love each other more then than you do today. Congratulations, may you blessed with many happy years.

I think that sounds better. Its makes the same point but uses much softer and friendly words. Hope it helps.

Remember that most people are going to mishear this or only get part of your message, and they will be confused and quite possibly appalled when you say "least" . Keep it very, very simple and very, very true to what you honestly wish for them...kind of like-

"We wish you many, many years of love, love which always grows, always deepens. May you always remember this day as the day you began to love."

It's hard to find the right words when your heart is so full; but everyone will recognize when you speak from the heart in love.

best wishes,
cryllie

I think you have the right idea, but the term "the least" is a bit harsh. How about:

"... as the day your love truly started to blossom"

or

"... as simply the beginning of a life-long love affair."

Something along those lines? Hope this helps! Good luck!

I would leave that part out maybe add something else there instead.

Hmmm. I liked it until you said LEAST. I know what you're trying to express, but can you do it without ending on a down note?

It's far too flowery, why not say something like " I hope you both encounter love, joy and wisdom as you begin your path along one of life's most amazing journeys.
