I'm starting a new school this year, i kinda shy so what should i do to make new friends?

I'd like to hear stories from people who have had this experience, because I'd like to believe that it is something that is still within the realm of possibility.

I love my boyfriend, but I know that I am not his "best friend", and it hurts.

I am looking for something positive to build on. My girl broke up with me two weeks ago. Im not contacting her at all and I know she still loves me. I want her back but I am moving on. Right now everything hurts and I want to think that I will find another that I am as attracted to and with whom I connect with as well as I did her.

I know a couple who are always kissing and hugging when they are in social situations and my boyfriend and I are the opposite. Does this mean that we don't love each other as much?

my friends boyfriend hits and abuses her,i have tried for months to help her but he always seems to have the upper hand.
He now checks her mobile messages and emails.
last week he strangled her but she wont leave him,she says she doesnt love him and he has admitted to having affairs even trying to get with her friend,luckily the friend told him to get lost.
I have lent her money to get herself sorted but 4 months on he's still there and she gave him the money i lent her.
she says shes scared of him and if she goes out he quizzes her about everything.
she has a daughter to a previous partner and he has told my friend that its him or her daughter.
I have tried everything to get her help and get away from him but she wont budge,she just says 'yeah,your right'.
She came to mine for a drink a few months ago and he bombarded her with text messages.
I dont want anything to happen to her,she's my friend,how much help do i offer before throwing in the towel and seeing it as a lost cause

After asking my first question on here, I am going to retry in a different way. I have no desire to do the nice things that I used to do for women. I just plain don't wanna go cook dinner, or bring anyone flowers, or give massages, things like that, and what sucks is that I really enjoy doing those things, just have no drive to do them anymore. How do I get that drive or desire back?

My friend is dating this guy who works with her.They both were married but just fall in love.She started the divorce process but he kept delaying it..In Jan the guy broke off saying he is going back to his wife but after four months came back to her and said he found out his wife is also cheating on him and now they are even.They had few good months and again he says that since his family is very religious and he feels God don't want him to divorce(He is already divorced once and his wife also has three teenage kids from her first marriage..).My friend is very miserable as she is in middle of her divorce and the reason she did it is backing off..Since they both work in the same department(he sits in the next cube) its even harder for her to avaoid him.He is still living alone.He is talking to my friend but in a very formal way...
My friend needs some advice..Please help her..
