i heard that it costs about 10,000$ to adopt a child and then youve got to wait a long time before even being able to take care of that child....my question is..why is that so , dont they want the child to grow up happy ? dont they want more people to adopt ? if it costs that much and it takes that long , some loving husband and wife wont be able to take that child home because they cant afford that much at the time without saving up months and months of paychecks..not like they are poor or anything but bills and food are priority and there isnt exactly 10,000 left over..
why do they want that much money anyways ? and why do they wait so long ? cant they just screen the possible parents to see if they are good people etc in 1 month or less ?

My father and I have had a very rocky relationship throughout my life. He was emotionally absent when I was growing up and even more so now. He wants to pretend there are no problems in our family. He doesn't want to bother with anything when he comes home, he just wants a beer, dinner, and to go to bed. That's his perfect life. I revealed to him that I was raped, hoping to have him try to help me and make me feel that he still loved me, but he blew it off. It was never mentioned again. He doesn't want to bother with it. I am now angrier at him for ignoring it than I am at the rapist. I now fight with my father constently, but that's not I'm supposed to be doing. I'm supposed to pretend that everything is perfect in my life so everything will be perfect in his. I try to move on from this, but everything he does or says just ignites that anger again and I act ugly towards him. I'm not allowed to bring up my rape again (said to me by my mother) or to upset him.

OK, majority says there is NO reason for an affair so if it happens do you address the issue that may have led up to it, such as spouse not handling a co-worker's continuous advances the way you ask (just to make you feel secure, or maybe the lack of romance, or the feeling of never feeling good enough for your spouse, mistrust because of the betrayal, outside people constantly trying to break your family apart AT ALL COSTS. I say all these things because they are some issues that have been affecting my marriage but llike everyone says they are not a reason to stray. So what do you do when you want to make the relationship work after all of this has happened? Help only serious answers please. I am at a loss and need just some opinions to help me sort things out. Feel free to check my other questions for other info.

My husband, whom I love with all my heart, just had a heart attack wednesday. He came home from the hospital on all kinds of new meds and orders to change his life style and follow up appointments with the cardiologist. The problem is he is not suppose to be under any added stress and now I have juevenille officers contacting me over an incident of his son being abusive to my daughter while here this summer. I know he needs to know but I am scared to tell him afraid it will send him back to the hospital or worse. I can't talk to his family as they feel everything that has happened with his kids is my fault and my kids. How should I tell him this is going on. The juvenille officer didn't come by until after he was in the hospital and then last night when I got home had a note in the door from her to call her first thing Monday and she wants us both there. My husband knows what had happened just not that the authorities are now involved

my niece is 2 now, her father has been raising her since she was born, mother was there for 1st 9 months, then left and is wanted by police! I watch my neice when her daddy works! He takes very good care of her! She is starting to talk and is now callin me mom! I tell her no I am Aunt . I always correct her, will she start callin me her aunt, I feel bad cause her mother doesnt care about her!
Her daddy said he's not mad about it cause I am the only female that really takes care of her so she thinks I am her mom! Is there anything else I can do to get her to realize I am her aunt? Or when she calls me mom should I ignore her until she does say aunt?
Not sure what to do about it? any advice!

I am half iranian, half german. It is very odd, whenever, I tell them I am iranian, they behave abnormally and some even won't talk to me. This even happends when I try to get to know new people.
On the other hand, whenever, I mention that I am German, they are friendier.
I was raised in europe, and cannot understund why people behave like this!!!???

Basically i went to college with this guy for two years and we were just friends, but recently we have shared a few kisses and touched.

He says he wants to go all the way with me, but if i don't feel the same that is ok.

However, i don't really fancy him, but he is a good friend. I always said to myself that i would wait untill i felt ready to have sex with a guy but i don't feel ready to have sex with anyone! In addition to that, every one else has done it!

Do i follow my heart and wait, stay friends with him and nothing else, and just ignore the fact that everyone has had sex and i am still a virgin, or do i go with this lad???

You would think that they would be happy in their early 60's...but they divorced and have become very selfish. Anyway, I know that my boyfriend likes to spend time with his friends and I know that this particular friend is very important for him. So when he told me about his trip, I didn't think that I would hear from him this weekend as I thought that if men are together, that means he is doing his own thing and I am doing my own. But I was very happy when I came back yesterday evening from work to receive a sweet message from him. He was asking me how I was doing and how my evening was going and he was telling me about a place they went to visit. I though it was really sweet but I must say I was quite surprised to hear from him.in a nice way of course. What do you think?

His parents despise me. We plan to secretly see eachother Friday nights and Saturday nights at a youth center we go to and tell them we fell in love when we saw eachother at school again in September. They told him they were sad and shocked he dumped me but they are also very proud that he made a decision on his own (we are both 17 by the way) He doesnt want to make them angrier by telling them we are dating again but eventually we will have to. What is a solution we could give without them being upset or angry at us, especially him?
