my niece is 2 now, her father has been raising her since she was born, mother was there for 1st 9 months, then left and is wanted by police! I watch my neice when her daddy works! He takes very good care of her! She is starting to talk and is now callin me mom! I tell her no I am Aunt . I always correct her, will she start callin me her aunt, I feel bad cause her mother doesnt care about her!
Her daddy said he's not mad about it cause I am the only female that really takes care of her so she thinks I am her mom! Is there anything else I can do to get her to realize I am her aunt? Or when she calls me mom should I ignore her until she does say aunt?
Not sure what to do about it? any advice!

Since she is just 2 yrs old , let her call you mom for the time being , once she grows up and starts to understand the surroundings then may be you can tell her that you are her aunt and not her mom.

She will call you mom for a while because its a faze. Eventually she will catch on to Aunt if you keep correcting her. Maybe if u and the father are both okay with it try having her call you Aunt mom???? Just a suggestion.

You are such a sweet girl to be helping to raise your neice. I wish all young ladies were that thoughtful.
I'd let her call you mom, she's not gonna understand that you are not, especially since you are the only female in her life. Wait till she gets older and then tell her.

Just a thought..... the idea of you being MOM had to be put in her head at one point.....children just dont automatically know that their main caretaker is their MOM.
continue to correct her.
