It was about countries around the world doing something against global warming. I believe that it included all the things the country would do against global warming...something like that. Al Gore supports it, I'm sure. I know that Bush refused to sign it, but I want to know the name. Thanks!

We all know that our energy needs have caused global warming:

dependance on petrol
factories
production rates

etc

What are your ideas for renewable energy sources?

Hi! I would like to know of some global warming causes. Preferably simple, yet obvious ones (like Hummers, for example). I know this is probably a stupid question, but I would like to know more. Thanks!

Yahoo! Answers is not a refereed forum, and a lot of bad science and pseudo-science is put forward as a result. Free speech is a fine thing, but on some scientific topics the results are clear. Global warming is one such issue---there is essentially no further controversy in the refereed scientific literature about the reality of global warming, its anthropogenic cause, or the *possibility* of lethal danger to life on Earth.

Yet here in Yahoo! Answers, "3DM" and "Mike", who clearly do not understand the physics of the situation in depth, are heralded as experts, "Top Contributors". Largely, this is a case of the blind leading the blind---the misinformed, choosing further misinformation as "best answer".

Newton's first law is energy cannot be created or destroyed, Chemistry tells us a making or breaking a molecule takes the same energy. If the net difference is zero then things cannot be powered and all energy that is created by this methods goes when you try and create more. Why is this considered a suitable method in theory?

I have been looking into them. I see there are several produced in Europe that seem to get great mileage. Looks like better than 45MPG. In the US I can only find VW and Mercedes, which don't get very high mileage (about 35MPG).

Are these are mistakes of nature or benefits to it?

I keep here tree huggers and leftists cry about melting polar caps and glaciers.

The only benefit of glaciers is the water that is used to make Kokanee!

Do you beleive that the weather we are having around the world is down to global warming? Or do you think it's down to something else?

I have read a theory that points to solar activity, I can't find the url (I will post it if / when I do). Anyway the basis is that of gravity, as we know the moon effects the tides on the planet, so the theory goes that other objects in the galaxy will also exert an influence on the earth. Added to the fact that in the back end of 2012 we are expecting a galaxy allignment (The ancient Mayan civilization predicted this thousands of year ago) It is therefore theoarised that the extra gravity is altering the climate and causing the freak weather.

The only reason why the government fail to mention this is because they can't tax us for it! Can you imagine, Planetry Alignment Tax???

What theories do you believe?

BTW, I agree with looking after the planet and recycling, I just don't believe that it is the cause of the freak weather we are having

As a member of a club, every once in a while I see that the water of the pool (it's pretty big) is changed.
Can the water of the pool (chlorinated) be used to water the greens of the club (huge lawns), without harming the grass?

All I hear lately is about "global warming" and being "green" however, there is nothing wrong with throwing tons of crap in outer space? Why is that? Then why don't we shoot all of our garbage out of the Earth's orbit and quit wasting money and time about conservation and recycling? This is an insult to everyone that gives a crap about our "air", "environment", "world", "universe", and most of all "THE ONLY RESOURCES WE HAVE ON THE PLANET AND HAVE NO WAY OF FINDING MORE UNTIL NASA CAN START DOING THINGS TO SHOW US A RETURN TO THE DOLLARS WE SPEND FOR THEIR RESEARCH AND NOT TOSS THEM AWAY CARELESSLY WITHOUT ANY REASON BUT TO SAY IT'S GARBAGE!!" Does anyone else have a problem with this? Click on the link at the top and Read, you tell me!

As I understand it, coal, oil, etc. were formed from the remains of organic life millionsof years ago. During that time carbon was sequestered in these deposits and thus must have reduced the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. Putting this back into circulation by burning fossil fuels merely restores matters to what they were previously. The Earth did not fry then, so why should it now? The only relevant factor I can think of is the sun. Its output is supposed to have increased 30% over geological time.

why can't we just live with what we have? TV makes us think we always have to buy the newest stuff, whick just makes more space in Earth...we can't afford THAT.

Pollution, as we know, is making the Ozone unhealthy, and the North Pole is soon going to be nothing else than ocean. We'll loose Polar Bears, Artic Wolves, and many more species just because we're so selfish and cannot live with the stuff we already have.

The world goes through stages, the Ice Age melted, didn't it? So our world is supposed to melt, and then drop again because that's the way it works. But it's our fault it went so fast.
It's our fault Polar Bears are not gonna be here.
It's our fault Artic Wolves will be extinct.
It's our fault Artic Foxes are just gonna die out.
It's our fault the seas are gonna rise.
It's all our fault.

What can we do about it?
We can stop buying so much stuff and start not just recycling, but also reusing!!

Been a while since I last asked for any evidence to refute GW / CC, nobody came up with anything on the previous occasions, perhaps something has since come to light.

If you don't buy into the GW / CC theory please provide credible evidence that disproves it or an alternative explanation. Alternatively valid arguments indicating what we know may be wrong.
