what can we do to stop global warming?

The phenomenon you are referring to is an imaginary concept. The earth warms and cools in cycles. There isn't much you as an individual can do about it. The important thing once you understand, is not to promote the concept of so-called "global warming".

Global warming, this is probably the most pressing, and the important issue that the world must face.

I used to say, the key is knowledge. ; We should encourage more people to know what is going to happen in the next 100 year if we don't combat global warming! kind of thing. But now, I feel that it is not enough. Al Gore has made us the film, we see commercials about global warming, Now we all know that half of the population will be gone for loss of water in the next 100 years, caused by global warming. I think we need to do more than "gaining knowledge".

Media encourages people to turn the lights off, turn the air conditioner off, stop doing things that harm the environment in our daily lives. Because ovbiously, because these small things in our lives built up to where the earth faces distruction. It's been a while ever since the population has realized that something must be done. Like an action must be taken. But nothing has changed, and the reality is getting worse. Why? It's because of humanity's self-centred minds.

So, in order to combat global warming, I think that alternative methods of energy production must become economically viable. The key is to combine personal economic interest with environmental betterness. A project like CO2 Trading can be an example of this.

A project which people can take the advantage of(meaning getting involved in the project becomes "profit" for us people), and at the same time contribues well to the environment, is what we need.

Oh god, Ive wrritten so much. I'm sorry, Im currently working on the project about global warming, kinda had to let my thoughts out to the world!

put reflectors in space between the earth and sun

figure out a way to sequester CO2 from the atmosphere and store it under the earth's surface

quit burning fossil fuels, adopt nuclear energy

we can't stop it, it happens naturally anyway, we are exacerbating global warming though by releasing so much CO2 into the atmosphere,

even if we stopped putting any CO2into the atmosphere today, global warming would continue at a high rate for a long time, there is no short term fix, we've already made our bed

The last ice age has only been finished for 150 years and we're on the cycle of warming up again before the next ice age comes.

It would take every person in every country to stop emissions and pollution to even attempt to curb the accelerated global warming. China alone puts out more pollution than the United States and Europe combined.

We can stop using so much plastic. Drive more fuel efficient cars and drive less often. We can fix the insulation in our homes.

We can buy more efficient products, such as the new clothing washers and products with the Energy Star label on them. We can buy the new compact fourescent light bulbs.

These are all things we can do to help stop human created global warming. Then we can lobby our congress representatives to push through legislation to stop corporations from polluting our environment.

Take care,
Troy

Nothing.... Even if one could get carbon emissions to zero (by exterminating most of humankind) the Global Climate will continue to warm... it is in that cycle...

Invent better energy sources. Cheaper solar panels. Better batteries. High volume bio fuel production. Safer nuclear reactors. Fusion power. Burning coal is so primitive!

you can make our precious imp0rtant earth c0oler actually!! how? by planting more trees....so that the excessive carbon dioxide present in air today can be used by the plants in ph0tosynthesis....n oxygen will be released!! as we know, the carb0n di0xide is the one that lead to global warming... therefore we have to reduce it...hehe...of course not by reducing our own exhalation..kerrk.. :)
