Are these are mistakes of nature or benefits to it?

I keep here tree huggers and leftists cry about melting polar caps and glaciers.

The only benefit of glaciers is the water that is used to make Kokanee!

DISCLAIMER: I do not buy into Man-Made-Global-Warming.

speckofdust7billion - make up your mind, what answer are you going to leave? There no doubt on the argument that "Global Warming" is occurring, the argument is that it is man caused. Yes, I am against life and I should be considered evil (sarcasm against your first answer)....Talk about ignorant. I was once victim to the public education system and started my own research. I remember the good old days of Global Cooling even though I saw a record high temperature in Phoenix...during the Global Cooling scare. Now that we are in Global Warming, regions around the country and world are experiencing record lows and snow. This passed winter I had to scrape ice off my windshield....in PHOENIX! Yeah, yeah, I know....Global Warming caused cooling in some parts of the world.....this whole week in the desert southwest the "high" won't be over the average temp of 105 degrees. Tell me again how that's bad?

Anders - Global Warming is natural and not caused by man. Did dinosaurs have a major industry that caused the last Ice Ages and Global Warming periods? (more sarcasm)

The polar ice caps and glaciers are the main factors into what controls our planets temperatures. They reflect a huge amount of sun light back which would otherwise hit open water and heat it up far more than global warming ever will.....Also, they help moderate the salinity of the ocean by adding some freshwater influence....They keep the thermohaline conveyor (and especially the North Atlantic Gulf Stream section) running which displaces heat away from the equator. 97% of the freshwater on the planet is trapped there so it could become a very important part of the planet if drinking water decreases in the far future

I disagree with people who say nature is good or beneficial. Nature just IS. Sometimes we find it helpful, like the gentle rain to water our crops, and sometimes we find it harmful, like tornadoes.

Nature isn't bad or good. It just IS.

We have been fighting the bad of nature (disease with medicine, drought with irrigation and so on) forever. But sometimes our efforts have unintended side effects. Like the side effects of drugs. But that is no reason to just take whatever nature throws at us. I will not give up my car and air conditioner just because of global warming. But I will try to get the most benefit for the least use of energy and I do support efforts to find new and better energy sources.

What made you become an anti - AGW proponent? You don't even know what role the polar ice caps play in the climate. What other scientific facts did you learn about before deciding that AGW is incorrect? Or is this a political issue seeing as you refer to 'leftists'? Do you just go with what your party tells you to think?

The polar ice caps reflects roughly 85 % of the Sunlight that falls upon them back in to space while water absorbs 85 % of it. Melting them would cause an increase in the amount of heat that stays on Earth.

Edit.
Troll clones ..:
There weren't any Dinosuars around during the last ice ages so how can you blame them for it?

it has to do to do with conveyor belt of ocean water that keeps the climate, livable, so to speak. if we dont have these oceanic currents, warm water, cold water, the climate can change dramatically and in a short period of time.

having said that, i dont go for man made global warming either.

they keep the earth cool by reflecting sunlight

you've just expressed your complete ignorance of earth climate, yet have made a determination about it whether humans have caused climate change, it amounts to a useless uninformed opinion

and what reason did you have to jump to your conclusion anyway? who are you trusting more than the scientists?
