Yes I know about EL NINO and have seen the effects of it in the carabean. I have also noticed how all the media have chose to not mention it at all. The last time there was EL NINO thats all the media went on about. Makes you wonder who makes the news, when and why????? Mass propaganda

No, it's not, but it can have a significant effect on weather, and because of it's cyclical and wide ranging effects, the climate. El Nino starts out in the Indian Ocean and can have effects up to Great Britain.

I've heard of it and it's not global warming. The two are very different things with a series of barely related causes and effects. The effects of El Nino and La Nina are not caused by global warming and couldn't possibly be; similarly global warming isn't caused by El Nino or La Nina.

One of the most striking differences is that El Nina and La Nina are events that occur every few years whereas global warming has been occuring continually for centuries.

el Niño was originally recognized by fisherman off the coast of South America as the appearance of unusually warm water in the Pacific ocean, occurring near the beginning of the year. El Niño means The Little Boy or Christ child in Spanish. This name was used for the tendency of the phenomenon to arrive around Christmas.
