The United States is a big contributor to global warming. There are now droughts and floods. Ice is melting and some island nations are expected to disappear under the additional water.

Do you think underdeveloped countries will hold responsible the United States and other developed nations?

When asked the question "how many of you took private or charter jets to the debate tonight" (paraphrasing)...I believe all but one candidate slowly and sheepishly raised their hands.

Mr. Mike Gravel alone spoke up and said that he took...

A TRAIN.

Sure, he was frightfully angry for the whole debate, and hardly asked any questions, but you have to give the man some credit for acknowleging the incredible sexy that is the train.

So I guess the question is, does being a high powered political leader with a busy schedual make private jets ok, or should they take a little extra time and lead by example? What do you think is an appropriate tradeoff between time efficiency and environmental stewardship, especially coming from people who claim to want to lead us in the right direction?

All of you who think that climate change is some type of 'conspiracy', - well in 1972 we had a storm measuring wind speeds in excess of 90 mph, that night my father said that this storm would probably be the worst I would experience in my lifetime. - (I was only ten years old and very scared!).
Up to date I have seen wind speeds far in excess of this on an annual basis - droughts and temperatures breaking all records - floods that are the worst in living memory - In 1987 we were hit by a hurricane and last week the regular met office - BBC - 6 o'clock forecast - warned of tornadoes possible the following day!
------------and where do I live?---------------
England!

Why do people still question the science?
What do the septics think the scientists have to gain by lying to us?
In the past 200 years we have released most of the carbon that all the trees - (turned to coal), and all the micro-organisms (turned to oil), absorbed over millions of years from Earths atmosphere.
Wake up!!!!!!!

Mr. Hawking says that It is important for the human race to spread out into space for the survial of the species. He believes there is an increasing risk that a disaster will destroy the earth { Global warming, Nuclear war, A genetically engineered virus.}

I myself believe that moving out into space wouldn't hurt. What with over population and being taking out by an astroid.

Agree that it is going to take alot of work. So we better get started.

Perhaps you don't beleive there is a problem or that it will pass of it's own accord. Perhaps you anticipate that science will come up with a solution. Maybe you think we're all doomed regardless.
