New Orleans was devastated by Katrina because the leviees broke causing flooding since NO is below sea-level. There are many parts of NO that have not even begun to rebuild. Why not clear sections of NO and use it as a landfill to raise the area to a level above sea-level so it won't flood again?

Much of San Francisco is built on a former landfill so the idea is not unrealistic. It would take years to raise it to that level but may be a way to have a "national" landfill so other areas won't have to build them.

Is it financially worth installing solar panels for electricity and heat (for home use), if you are going to live in the house for 4-6 more years?

Electricity bills come in at $500 per year (for us); how much does installing solar panels cost compare to about $3000 dollars of electricity costs (for 6 years more stay in the house)?

Also, tax deductions must be taken into account.
If it is financially worth installing solar panels- what kind is the most environmentally efficient?

E-10, gasahol, is known to eat through fiberglass tanks, what will it do to the new underground fuel tanks that have been installed in the last 10 years? I just researched and wrote a report on the effects of ethanol on antique cars and read several articles on the demise of fiberglass fuel tanks in boats. Will E-15 and E-85 have an adverse effect on the recently installed tanks gas stations are now using?

My question doesn't relate to anything as drastic as genocide. I'm referring to serious policies on birth control strictly applied to manage the population of the planet down to approx 3 billion by 2100. Let's face it - sticking a wind turbine on each of our houses isn't going to save the world is it?

... depositing waste carbon dioxide from industries beneath the earth surface where it can turn to rock in say 1000 years time. The explanation was that carbon dioxide together with sat water eventually turns to rock. Does this sound promising?

I'm about to have a baby in a few months and I'm very concerned about the diaper situation. I find disposable diaper usage almost ludicrous, and I cringe at the idea of how many diapers contribute to polluting our environment on a DAILY basis. However, I know people who tried the reusable cloth diaper approach, and they told me it was just too hard and time-consuming to keep up (not to mention messy), so they ended up buying regular diapers instead. What can I do to avoid falling into this trap? Any biodegradable diapers out there that won't put a huge dent on my budget? What other environment-friendly, cost-effective, REALISTIC alternatives do I have???

how much money these "green"companies are making from the current global warming craze. To me it seems like this is a new gold mine for making quick dollars. I have a feeling people should be placing much more money and energy and resources into solving the oil crisis which will affect us much sooner and undoubtedly much worse than global warming will.

7 of the 9 radiative forcing factors are rated at a level of low scientific understanding, shouldn't we be concerned that they are not accurately modeling the climate?

Shouldn't we be waiting on policy prescriptions until we actually have a firm grasp on what each RF factor and its implications for cliimate cahnge?

It appears that the rush to "do something" is a bastardization of the Precautionary Principle that will run right into the Law of Unintended Consequences.

Why am I wrong in thinking that we need more time and patience when it comes to making policy regarding climate change?

They just take everything this guy says for fact. I mean this guy said he invented the internet people. Plus, he stands to make billions on carbon credits if you believe him. There is a little conflict of interest with this guy.

The issue of global worming is really taking over. The scientists are really trying hard to convince people that it’s true & happening, wake up now or face the consequences. We are also running out of fossil fuels. Well if so is the situation how come we are still building monster SUVs just built to drink more patrol & pollute, how come Boeing is set on making bigger planes such as A380s which I happened to know from NGC that it sucks up almost a liter of gasoline per second. So, if we will for sure run out of fossil fuels, why make such things? Is this happening for real or is just a conspiracy?
