When reports about global warming/climate change/etc. are mentioned, the slant is always entirely negative. Surely changes of climate will actually be beneficial to some species or environments? I am prepared to accept that climate balance may be changing but I think the media is biased towards saying it is entirely terrible and not giving us any mention of good things that may come of it.

Lets try this again this link is a reference to what an ice age is no fancy words or charts or graghs:
http://www.teachersparadise.com/ency/en/wikipedia/i/ic/ice_age_1.html
seeing as I tried this once lets try this again I pulled the last one because it just wasn't working. My thoughts take them leave what ever but if all the ice does melt how would it be the end of the world the dino's didn't have ice untill Antrica went south on them, also in all reality the earth is heating up about a degree every 100 years or so, now I know because of humans the earth is in theory going to heat up fast how fast who knows with all this said when will the current ice age end or are we doomed to be in this one forever?????????

have no long term future, d o you agree?
fossil fuels are going too run out sooner or later, so we might as well make the transition to sustainable energy sources now. i am not convinced by the global warming theory but have seen no evidence to discount it. i believe that because there might be a chance of disaster we have no choice but to act responcibly to protect our planet. we will have to change to sustainable energy sooner or later and if we are ensuring our planets future at the same time the better.

I am not covinced by the global warming theory, but because of the stakes involved i believe i have no choice but to try and do my part in cutting co2, my greatest hope is that its not true, partly because we as a species dont seem to be doing enough quickly enough, but from now on i am going to try my best and do what i can, i urge you to do the same, what could be the worst outcome, knowing we ensured this planet for future generations

Recently New Scientist magazine published an article called 'How the obesity epidemic is aggravating global warming' - have you read this? You need to be a subscriber to read it. I've not seen/heard this matter covered in the news, and it sounds pretty crackpot as a concept, so what's the gist of the theory? How is obesity aggravating Global Warming? If this is something valid then what do you think supporters of the CO2 bandwagon will do about it? A CO2 fat tax maybe?

What does it mean that there's an "800 year lag between temperature rise and carbon dioxide"? This is a quote from an online article I was reading, and I can't add any more info to it as there was none to add. I've tried finding what this means, but can't find further info. So what does this mean, and what does it mean for those who support CO2's significance to Global Warming? Does it mean that it takes 800 years for CO2 to have any affect upon temperature rise - is that correct? Please state your evidence. Thanks.

Sorry I don't have the URL of the article.

We as humans would do anything to protect ourselves from harm that was repeatedly done to us. Why shouldn't the Earth do the same thing. What do we as a species have to offer Earth besides death and destruction. What reasons does she have to keep us around?

If we tallied up all the water we have stored, outside the water cycle, in the millions of places we hold it, dams, tanks, in toilets, car radiators, refrigerators, pipes, most of the products in our supermarkets, hot water systems, etc etc, the list would be huge. How much water in total would there be in these places? (how much water is in Coke cans at the moment?)

And, hypotheticaly, if all this water was returned to the water cycle, would it have any impact on the worlds current water crisis?

The point of these questions is for me to see if anyone thinks the way i do.
I saw the 'global warnings' on the media and elsewhere, and was deeply worried.
I researched into 'global warning' to see what i could do about it.
When researching i found there were two sides, one believing the theory, the other not.
I decided to be as unbiased as i could and so reseached both sides.
I do not believe the theory of 'us' causing global warming, Because of what i have learned from researching both sides of the debate.
However i believe the are clear enviromental issues that do need to be ressolved. The amount of waist we produce, burying it in land fill sites instead of recycling it and deforestation spring to mind.
thankyou for all answers.

As that's what it would take for the claims against anthropogenic climate change to be true. I know the majority of my friends wouldn't.

I am interested to know the quantity of carbon sequestered annually per hectare in northern (Canada, Norway, Sweden, Finland, etc) forests (i.e spruce and pine forests). If the info is available for the carbon absorption at different ages of the forest then that would be great to see. I am specifically talking of plantation forests rather than original growth areas.

I would be looking for sources for your info too.

Thanks very much for your help, all I can find is info on Australian forests!

Kind regards and best wishes
Resolution

Some day I hope to do my bit for the plane by installing solar panels on my house and getting an electric car.

I hear that conversion car kits are already available. What parts of the standard car are replaced? How much do they cost? What about insurance?

NO JOKES PLEASE, only sincere replies.
