It's not a question of "believing" in global warming - it's happening. We can measure the temperature of the earth fairly accurately and it's getting hotter. Just because Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and G.W. Bush say Global Warming isn't happening doesn't make it true.

Just as Kieth Olbermann, Al Gore and Leo DiCaprio saying the earth is headed for a crisis of planetary proportions doesn't make that statement true.

I think it makes sense to stop pumping the air full of pollution, regardless of whether we're responsible for global warming or not - but people would rather bicker about this subject than address the real issues on human influences on climate.

Agree with Byderule (above). Could give you a detailed, factual answer but I fear it would be pointless.

● Yes I believe in global warming

● The earth is warming 17 times as fast as it did when we came out of the last 'ice age'

● We've damaged nature before. Acid rain was down to us, global cooling in the mid 20th century was down to us, ozone depeltion was down to us. The atmosphere is extremely delicate and very finely balanced, there might appear to be a lot of it but every part of it has been breathed in and out many times over. It doesn't take much to screw it up.

What you have to be specific about is if you mean man made global warming.

It is an undeniable fact that average temperatures around the world are rising.

It is the cause of those temperature risies that is under debate, man made or naturaly occuring.

I am prepared to belive humanity is contibuting to those temperature rises.

As for nature being to strong to damage, I disagree, have you visited Chernobyl in Ukraine recently? In fact humanity has utterly destroyed countless envorinments and localised ecosystems on earth and now maybe be at the thin end of a very big wedge with climate change.

Sadly too few people believe in the theory of Global Warming. If more people could just see the damage that we as a species are doing to this planet, then we'd be a lot better off.

Believe? It's not a theory , its a fact and a reality and we all know it but we're too blind to see it. What some people are trying to say is that people are soo innocent, it's nothing to do with us , we're just Innocent things that do nothing at all and that it's all natures fault. Hell yeah it our fault that it's getting worse.
And what really bugs me is that people believe is God when there is not one lousy record or whatever to prove that God exists. But when there are hundreds of records actually saying "Yes global warming is happening and yes we are contributing A LOT" people just don't believe it and dont care about it.

It isn't a religion. It makes no difference what we believe. Science art and culture have peaked, and we are sliding back into a new dark age where ignorance and aggressiveness prevail. Our place in the food chain will be taken by the feral pigs.

I don't know what to believe. One day there saying the floods are all down to global warming, and then they say that the same thing happened in 1946! They say that summers are getting warmer, but I remember spending the whole of my summer holidays on the beach, and it was always hot and sunny, not like now. The only thing I do think has changed, is that the winters are warmer

If anyone doesn't believe it is occuring, they are not keeping up with the latest findings of the north and south poles. The penguins are having a hard time in finding an area in Antarctica where they can live happily ever after. Ice caps are melting, food is becoming hard to find, etc.
