GO Byderule GO.

Permaculture is all about observation and learning FROM nature. Not merely copying nature. The difference is subtle but critical.

One of the most important rules Permaculture gives us is to OBSERVE, then if your really have to, make the minimalist adjustment possible, then observe. No action is better than action EXCEPT we, as humans, live in this world. We have needs and wants.

Permaculture offers ways in which to design solutions so that needs can be satisfied with the MINIMUM DISRUPTION to natural systems. This concept is often misunderstood. A Permaculturist's view is that the natural system is best. However, in order for mankind to live in that system their must be a YIELD. The higher the yield the better use of land and natural resources. There are finite resources and an ever increasing population. Active Permaculture can find easy sustainable low impact solutions to the problems we face today.

We need to learn about natural systems, invest in natural systems. Nature has tried and tested systems that work. We are arrogant in that we believe that we, mankind, knows better.

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.

According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

Sure. We learn that the tides come in, the rain and snow come down and the Earth continues to orbit the Sun whether we are there or not. In other words, we learn that we're not the center of the Universe, that it goes on without us. Still, we can contribute to the destruction of our world by wasting resources. Nature doesn't care about us, but we should care about nature and leave the world a better, not a worse place for the younger generations to come.

Humans are part of Nature and we have to look out for any disruption. When leaves are falling off trees too early, a mold forming on tree bark, whales beaching themselves and the list goes on. When any of this is noticed, please report it to the Environmental Protection Agency or Department of Environmental Protection in your state. If you live outside the USA report any flaws of Nature to your environmental agency.
When a study is done and the results released to the public, we will learn from that of what may be causing them.

No matter how we try to separate ourselves from the natural world, we are still part of it. This higher consciousness of ours has only led to greed and arrogance. We no longer live within the rules of nature; to take only what is required, to waste nothing, and to give back to the earth. We are out of balance, and are reaping what we sow.

Every species has value; they can teach us new approaches to survival, they can give us what we need to survive, and the natural world offers countless means to improve spiritual, mental and physical health. What are we doing to give back? We need to protect all species and resources.

Here's a thought ... MAN is also part of nature (the last I recall, we weren't artificually created). What if the things we're doing is simply part of the natural order of things?

Didn't Darwin suggest the "survival of the fittest?" Maybe this also pertains to man.

Just a thought to keep everyone on their toes.

No, but the government should learn that fields need ditches to take away excess water.
Also that rivers need to be dredged regularly.
None of these have been done for years, so for this complacency.people of Northern and Middle England are paying the price with excess floodwater/
