I don't agree that it is like a cult at all! You have given some well thought out eg's, but this is not at all how I see it. I am an urban greenie, and whilst I an well informed I have not seen Gore's film, nor read the stuff you quote from, my sources have been many and varied, and I don't consider them alarmist, though they are certainly within the 'green' movement. I don't think that they are vague, it is clear that it is an inexact science, with so many variables that is inevitable. And it is only simple if you stick to the simple journalism - in the UK there are national newspapers with the quality of journalism to actually produce well researched articles on the subjects - the tabloids tend to be the deniers, and they do it in that Bible bashing way you describe. I don't think that unprecedented ice floe dissipation is to be sniffed at - if it is a natural phenomena as deniers say it is the enviromental impact it will have will not be helped by people continuing to say that there isn't a problem with resource depletion

Here is the greatest shocker out there. It isn't something anyone would expect to hear since Gore told us it is global warming caused by us bad oil hungry smoke spewing fools.

There aren't many, here's a few sites to be going on with and a couple of videos you may want to watch. If you want technical scientific papers questioning some aspects of global warming please e-mail me and I'll try and dig some up from somewhere. Please note that much of the content on the following sites is known to be inaccurate and it would be adviseable to seek first hand verification regarding some of the claims made.
Cooler Heads Coalition - Dispelling myths of global warming by exposing flawed economic, scientific, and risk analysis.
http://www.globalwarming.org/
George Marshall Institute - Begun in 1989, the Institute's program involves a critical examination of the scientific basis for global climate change policy.

Global Climate Coalition - The Global Climate Coalition (GCC) was one of the most outspoken and confrontational industry groups in the United States battling reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

Greening Earth Society - The Greening Earth Society (GES) was founded on Earth Day 1998 by the Western Fuels Association to promote the view that increasing levels of atmospheric CO2 are good for humanity.

The Oregon Petition - A review of the research literature concerning the environmental consequences of increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide leads to the conclusion that increases during the 20th Century have produced no deleterious effects upon global weather, climate, or temperature.

Science and Environmental Policy Project - SEPP was founded on the idea that credible science must be the basis for health and environmental decisions. Read their reports on scientists that are questioning worldwide global climate accords.

World Climate Report - The World Climate Report is a leading site in finding weakness in current global warming science and policy. The online magazine has a wealth of information.

I'm not sure what you mean by "against" but here is a great unbiased article on why the majority of global warming is not caused buy people.

Well if we could vote on global warming, I'd be against it. However, we don't get to decide to be for or against it. It just is. We can decide in favor of doing something about it, or we can decide to be against doing something about it.

If you know what to look for, the answers are right there on the "for" websites as much as the "against" websites. I come across many skeptical websites, but sometimes their conclusions and sources are just as specious as the alarmist sites. So, Caveat emptor!

Why don't you seek out the truth instead of viewing the issue in black and white and listening to the hot air that spews from both sides?
