Today it is freezing cold and, as it always is when temperatures drop and we have a heavy frost, the air is PERFECTLY STILL?

All of the massively expensive (both in financial and natural resources terms) and environmentally unsightly wind turbines are stationary. Where are we getting the power for our heating? Coal, gas, oil and nuclear power of course.

Perhaps the answer is to build huge fans, powered by coal, gas, oil or nuclear power, and site them in front of the wind turbines so they still work when the air is still.

The last ice age ended 100,000 years ago, when man was in the very early stages of evolution. There is no question of human activity changing the climate then, yet the Earth warmed up considerably and vast areas of land were flooded.

It seems to correspond to what is happening now, and it is occasionally said that we still live in a "mini ice age".

Surely this is just another example of the way the Earth's temperature fluctuates naturally and nothing whatsoever to do with us.

Personally I suspect that we give ourselves far too much credit by claiming that we can effect the Earth's climate. Many eminent scientists and environmentalists such as David Bellamy disagree with the "official" reports, which as I understand it are commissioned by Governments who start from the point that global warming IS caused by man, then seek "evidence" to prove their case.

I've taught permaculture classes in a local college, and Im just curious as to how many people out there in world know what permaculture is, and I want to spread the word about it since I think it is really the only solution to our environmental problems.

So, Honestly, did you know what it is before you saw this question?

If not - I hope you will now! (someone explain this stuff a bit so this becomes educational for someone!)

Here it is in Wikipedia:

The link appears obvious. What happens when one species thinks every other aspect of creation was put there merely as toys and tools for itself? Zero respect, that's what. Animals, plants, soil and air become economic goods for human desires ... and the environment pays the price for something that regularly touts its humility. In fact, it is the greatest arrogance and selfishness.
