Of course. We need nuclear to fight global warming. We should push solar and wind as much as possible, but nuclear will be needed also.

We can make it safer. Waste disposal is pretty well established, what's stopping designation of a specific site is just politics. Plant operation at the best plants is pretty good, we need to make sure all plants are that good. The thickly shielded and guarded reactors are by far not the most tempting terrorist targets.

I am not a "Green" But I have heard a lot of them speak.
They hate the idea of Neuclear power, they cite the dangers of 3 mile island and Chernoble, as examples that every power plant is going to blow up. These plants were made many years ago and technology and safeguards have vastly increased. The whole world, except for North America is embracing Neuclear technology, Wind power will make no dent in the demand and scars our landscapes, Tidel, power has not been proven yet, and environmentalists don't want us to dam the rivers which would give us unlimited clean power but kill the fish stocks.

Thinking from a scientific point of view is yes nuclear energy is the only Highest yielding source of Energy But the problems that lie within are still finding safe ways to store or recycle the toxic radioactive waste after. So if they can't find a way to get rid of the poisonous green goop that's safe then no we should not pursue it. Unless of course we launched it in rockets toward the sun then maybe we would not have to worry.

I'm all for saving the environment, but not at the expense
of being blown to bits by nuclear weapons. I believe it
is Iran that is claiming all they are doing is enhancing nuclear
energy. There are too many other alternatives.
