Chemical fertilizers are made with petrol products. It is probably the most important use of petrol other than gasoline.

The obvious ones for oil, apart from making electricity, are heating and transport.

Some 4% of oil type fuels are used to make a vast range of plastics used in injection moulding, blow moulding and film production.

I burn both coal and natural gas to heat my house. I use petrol to drive my car.
