fractional distillation(or petrolum cracking)- a process of heating up crude oil and drawing off the various products as they separate.
the various components of petrolum have a different tempreture that they turn to vapour with petrolum gas at the lowest tempreture(it turns to gas easiest.) where it is drawn off compressed and liquidfied to the highest tempreture which i think is bitumen.

LPG is synthesised by refining petroleum or natural gas.
LPG is one of the product obtained from the fractional distillation of crude oil.see the following websites for details about the extraction of lpg from crude oil through fractional distillation.
