Appearing before the Commons Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development last year, Carleton University paleoclimatologist Professor Tim Patterson testified, "There is no meaningful correlation between CO2 levels and Earth's temperature over this [geologic] time frame. In fact, when CO2 levels were over ten times higher than they are now, about 450 million years ago, the planet was in the depths of the absolute coldest period in the last half billion years." Patterson asked the committee, "On the basis of this evidence, how could anyone still believe that the recent relatively small increase in CO2 levels would be the major cause of the past century's modest warming?"

Patterson concluded his testimony by explaining what his research and "hundreds of other studies" reveal: on all time scales, there is very good correlation between Earth's temperature and natural celestial phenomena such changes in the brightness of the Sun.

How can you disagree?

2. Biomass
3. Hydroelectric
4. Solar
5. Wind
6. others that I haven't thought of

My point is, could we completely eliminate our greenhouse gas emissions due to burning natural gas and coal, and switch entirely to the above methods? I'm not including car propulsion methods or anything like that in this. I'm talking solely about electricity production.

any creative uses for the empty water bottles? I can almost see a use related to solar collecting, but the idea hasn't completely formed yet. What other possible uses?

lamps that you can set on your windowsill during the day to charge them and then use in your home in the evening? I know they make garden lights, but it seems this same technology would work for interior lamps as well.

Basically I ask this because it seems rather strange to me that when recycling plastic bottles and containers I have to throw away the corresponding lids that in many cases are marked with exactly the same ‘recyclable’ logo that the bottles carry. Surely they should take any manageable plastic objects that are marked as recyclable?

I've recently heard that in about 17 years a huge meteoride is about to hit the earth around the US region on Discovery channel.
Is this really happening? Is this the end fof human race? Are new creatures going to emerge on earth?
It seems that the metioride is 6 miles i radius(or diameter, not sure) and as powerful as all the neuclear weapons put together on earth, and when it hits the earth, a huge blast nearly takes off all the life in that region, and a huge dust would cover the whole atmosphere and the people on the other side of US might die without food!
How tragic is that!
Is this really happening, i'm just 17 n i'm damn curious n kinda afraid!
Are there no precautions or solutions for this disaster!
