I've recently heard that in about 17 years a huge meteoride is about to hit the earth around the US region on Discovery channel.
Is this really happening? Is this the end fof human race? Are new creatures going to emerge on earth?
It seems that the metioride is 6 miles i radius(or diameter, not sure) and as powerful as all the neuclear weapons put together on earth, and when it hits the earth, a huge blast nearly takes off all the life in that region, and a huge dust would cover the whole atmosphere and the people on the other side of US might die without food!
How tragic is that!
Is this really happening, i'm just 17 n i'm damn curious n kinda afraid!
Are there no precautions or solutions for this disaster!

Relax, there is nothing to be afraid of, the asteroid in mention is not projected to hit the earth and is being monitored. If there was an asteroid that they new was going to hit the earth I believe that we have the technology to deviate it enough to move it, it will not take much. With the amount of warning we have there is nothing to be concerned about. This asteroid is supposed to actually pass between the earth and the moon and I really believe that is neat and hope to see it.

It's just discovery channel, and i really wouldn't worry about it. They don't really know the future unless God came down and told them. If the earth was hit by a meteroite then the earth would be wiped out, so there would be no life forms. There is probably more chance of the Rapture (the coming of Jesus and all christians going back to heaven with Him) than the meteriote. How many things have you heard like that that didn't happen. It's okay, and i understand you want to live longer than 17+the next 17 years, i was there once too. Relax a little and just enjoy the life you were given.

dont worry the planet will survive ,but it is unlikely that we will
many predictions are for the years between 2012 and 2020
Nostradamus, the mayas ,Egyptions Jesus ,and Terrance Mckennas time wave who put the magnetic out put of the world in to a computor projection that stopped at zero in 2012,this stops the globe and it starts turning into
the other direction ,the resulting change of currents will turn the planet into a giant washing machine cleaning the surface

then there are the meteor showers you mentioned ,the gulf of Mexico is the result of one that would have made life exstinct for a while ,this would result in an other ice age if the globe is covered in dust

then there are natural disasters
Volcanos are coming to life everywhere
the weather has giant storms like hurricanes ,tornados ,tidal waves ,earth quackes

a shift of the earth crust ,like a changing of the poles
under Anrarctica were found fosilized tropical plants indication the pole must have been in a different place then (the mainland atlantis is thought to be under it )

Now we got Global warming to contend with (see my answer on global warming)

and the USA appears to be gunning for a global nuclear conflict .it is most likely that this will get us first looking at present politics

but the planet will probably survive unless humanities bombs result it to be knocked out of its orbit

so many ends to choose from
if it wasnt so serious it would be rediculous

meanwhile enjoy life .and make the most of it at least we are all in the same boat

Japan's tsunami become brought about with the help of the earthquake, that's in basic terms brought about with the help of plates under the floor shifting. Its no super deal :-) additionally, the only reason they say 2012 is the tip of the international, is with the help of the fact all the planets are going to line up. they say which will make a gravitational distinction. PSH. liars. finally, the earth isn't spinning speedier. each and everything would be ok. the international isnt coming to chaos- think of approximately it! those organic failures ensue each and every 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. in our lifetime, the international won't come to an end. desire this helped! :-)

Anyone how claims they predict accurately when a meteor/asteroid is going to impact the earth is fooling themselves. Anyone who claims they can tell you where AND when it's going to hit is seriously yanking your chain. Think of it this way: The weatherman in your area, has a multitude of satellites and computers at his disposal to tell you whats going to happen within 5miles of the earths surface over the next 24 hrs. How often does he nail the forecast? Someone telling you what's coming from space 17yrs down the road is laughable. Enjoy your time here.

That is a good question, but people have been prophesying about the end of the world for hundreds and thousands of years. I trust in our Government to be able to destroy the meteorite before it gets close to us. Just have faith in God and your fellow men/women and if it happens we probably won't even know it happens. Besides enjoy your life and not worry about matters that we have no control over.

Yes the end of the world has been in the making for a long time. All for the sake of people making new ways to make life more comfortable for them. They are killing the earth for the sake of improvement. But what they are doing is killing us all.

Don't be afraid. There are at least 1007 years to go before the earth will be destroyed.
