how to ditect whether the water is pure or potable without knowing its pH value

2007-02-15 21:15:12 · 2 answers · asked by man 1

There are billions of people living on earth.
There are literally hundreds of religions.
People speak many different languages.

Medicine is increasing the length of time we live.
We use more power, oil, & natural resources than ever.
More pollution exists because of more people.

Farmers have to grow ever more on ever less lands.
Over farming is destroying some areas.
Masses of people are starving.

There are more wars and fights.
People are losing control (of their sex)
Natural disasters seem to be increasing.

Information overload is rampant everywhere these days.
Fear is causing many to have heart attacks.
We used vaccines on so many healthy people, that when someone actually gets sick and needs it, the germs have upgraded to resist it.

Does anyone think we can last much longer than 5 more years?
How long do you think we will last and why?
Is the earth already past saving?

I would love to go to one of these Live Earth Gigs, but I do wonder if they really are the answer to promoting climate change?

We are being told continuously on the news to turn off our TV's (not leaving them on standy), etc., but how much electricity would these concerts be using along with everyone driving or flying to see the concerts (I would drive most probably).

What does everyone else think?

There is a debate going on about wether a ping pong ball filled with bleach would blow up a car if dropped into a gas tank. Now granted, this is about old cars that didn't have the screens on the filler tube. I do not believe it would do anything and I have mixed gas with bleach and although the smell was horrendous there was no reaction. Can anyone enlighten us on this issue? So far, no one seems to have an answer. There is a rather large bet riding on this

My mom and I had an argument over this, so I want your oppinion. She doesn't like putting rock salt on the ground because she thinks it destroys the driveway, and the concrete on the sidewalk. My arguement is that it is not the salt that destroys anything, it is the melting and refreezing of water which expand the cracks to cause further damage. She also argues that salt causes incredible pain to our dogs feet. Can you help set the record straight on these issues once and for all?

Large masses of ice are appearing in Iceland that haven't been seen in over 40 years, providing a way for polar bears to reach iceland.

How does this article make you feel about "global warming"? I thought all the ice was melting?
