Bottled water drinkers, environmentalists, do it yourselfers?

Question

any creative uses for the empty water bottles? I can almost see a use related to solar collecting, but the idea hasn't completely formed yet. What other possible uses?

one of the best ideas i have heard of for plastic bottles was as a greenhouse heater. this is how it works: as the temperature goes down outside and the greenhouse starts to freeze, the water in the bottles releases heat that had been stored from the previous exposure to the sun. if it gets so cold that the bottles actually freeze, then the latent heat in the water is released, keeping the plants just above freezing, therefore alive.

I would just recycle them. Somebody will probably come up with something crazy, like making an inflatable mattress out of them, but let's be honest here. Nobody is going to drink 500 bottles of water just to use trash to make something.

Step one: Don't buy them. It takes an incredible amount of water to make the plastics for the water.
But if you got them.. recycle and reuse.

I am no eco-wacko, but I just fill them with tap water and put them in the fridge for drinking.
