i wonder.....do they burn it? or do they dump it somewhere??

It really depends on where you live.Someplaces (like where I live)take great care to recycle as much of it as possible and then send the rest to an engery producing incinerator.Then only the ashes go to the landfill.Other places just send it to the landfill.

Some is shipped to landfills. In Virginia we are concerned about waste being shipped from New York so we tried to ban import of garbage. Our ICC and other regulatory agencies and the courts decided we could not impose sanctions on interstate commerce. Garbage may be commerce but I feel that it is stretching the meaning of the law to allow New York to foist their medical and other wastes on the citizens of another state.

Some waste is burned in co-generation plants designed to incinerate garbage at very high temperatures supposedly so that it will be neutralized. Some plants are said to burn it with additives so that the resulting burn material is composed mostly of glass like particles which trap the pollutants.

Some is recycled.

This is just a small list.

In the case of garbage where I live the stuff is sent to abanded mines and disposed of by dumping the garbage into the defunct mines

Nearly all our garbage goes directly to the local landfill. Some is sorted for recyclables but most of it is buried.

in my place, the garbages are dump in forsaken area and was bulldozed until it all flat into forsaken land. I must support the incubator because the burn garbages into dust.
