Application of plant tissue culture
Plant tissue culture used widely to plant science has many commercial application. These include-
(1) as a tissue for transportation followed by either short-term testing of genetic constructs or regeneration of transgenic plants.
(2) large-scale growth of plant cells in liquid culture in bioreactors as a source of secondary products, like biopharmaceuticals.
(3) a plant breeder may use tissue culture to screen cells, rather than plants for advantageous characters e.g. herbicide resistance/tolerance.
out of several points i could not understand these 3 mantioned above can you plz explain them in detail in an well understanding language

According to the CNA commercials (Canadian Nuclear Association??) nuclear power is safe and environmentally friendly, and for more info go to their website. So I went to their site and read about waste management programs in place and proposed programs for long-term storage. All programs entail underground long-term storage. This got me thinking. Why don't we send nuclear waste into space, towards nowhere, or towards the sun, or some other planet or moon? Why are we considering filling up our underground when we could be rid of the waste forever? This to me would be the only way nuclear power is environmentally safe. I'm sure that I am not the only one to have thought this, any insight would be appreciated, thanks.

Why can't they get out there and push?

I am sure it will help get a little winter flab off as well.

Safe, good for the environment, see, if a billion (1/7th) of the world's total population will use push instead of gas, they can save on average, a billion gallons of gas each week, maybe more, depending on how many times a week they use it!

Why didn't some smart scientist think this up, instead of me?

Lets say its cold outside. If I use the dryer at night won't it suck cold air in thru all the cracks? Making the house colder. Air goes in the dryer and out the vent. The air in the house has to be replaced somehow. So I assume cold air will be sucked in thru the cracks. But the dryer does get warm and should somewhat transfer the heat into the house. Is this a good trade? Wouldn't it still be best to use the dryer during the warmest part of the day in the winter. And the opposite would be in the summer to use the dryer at night when its coolest. Of course in the summer I would try to dry outside. Anybody got a good theory on this?

I am currently doing a research report on the science of e-waste. What kind of a textbook would help me out best - environmental science or ecology? I am looking for a book that explains HOW chemicals like mercury, lead, cadmium, along with plastics, affect the environment.

Do you think that the global warming skeptics have been successful at taking advantage of a scientifically illiterate US population?

It's funny how any mainstream Scientist understands the impending crisis, yet the average debt-riddled SUV-driving soccer mom who doesn't know the difference between an atom and a molecule is somehow convinced that she's right and numerous Nobel Laureates, Climatology experts and reknowned Scientists are wrong.

I read that someone is offering a reward to the first person to invent a method to rid our planet of the greenhouse effect by breaking down the CO2 in the stratosphere.

Why is this prospect so difficult. Don't plants break down CO2 into Oxygen?

CO2 is a linear molecule but can also have a dipole moment. The bonds in CO2 aren't that strong are they?
