Higher temperatures accelerate glacial melting and disrupt oceanic currents. Won't this cause temperatures to go even higher after the initial warming? It seems that as the heat increases, the temperature would increase exponentially. And won't this lead to a runaway greenhouse effect?

Within the next three years all incandescent light bulbs in Australia will be replaced with energy saving bulbs, which use 80% less electricity.

The Australian government is the only western nation (besides the USA) which refused to ratify the Kyoto Protocol. Is this latest idea, although a good idea, too little too late?

Is there any law, regulation or system that requires car manufacturers such as Volvo and Ford to report their CO2 emission from their facilities in UK (EU) and US?
If not, where can I find such data? I am interested in annual CO2 emission data by each facility (preferably not as a company as a whole) of car manufacturers
