I agree with you to a point, but...India has a very large population of poor people, is it fair to ask these people to pay more for products that are eco-friendly? Additionally...each person in India's population has a smaller ecological footprint, or takes less from the environment on average than a person in a highly developed country with an economy based on consumption. It's just not a logical place to start.

Eco friendly products are not used much because they are:
*perishable in nature
* not commercially viable
*not many innovations have been made in this field
*if at all there are any products that are eco friendly, they are mostly out of reach of the masses, which constitutes of poor
[ that's why cotton dresses are costlier than polyester clothes]
*more over, eco-friendly products cannot be the 'in-thing' for long.
You have stated that we must UNITE and make an ECOFRIENDLY state. Any idea how we begin that?Not a day goes by without burning petrol or using plastic covers.The ANTI PLASTIC drive has also taken a brow beating in many states.
The irony is that, normal citizen like u Or me cannot do more than planting a few trees in one's garden.We must be doing something more...Even as I answer, I am burning fossil fuel by way of electricity.

It's not the government alone. Its also the public to promote or show interest in buying cottage industry or home made products. Examples are jute products, cotton fabrics, bamboo and cane or rattan products, natural wood fiber products rather than press-wood products, using more and more recycled materials wherever tehy are safe to use. Why is everyone running to the big cities ? Village life is more peace & quiet, more eco-friendly and has a bigger potential of long term sustainability if everyone tries to preserve its environment in the best possible mamer by paying attention to education, health & safety, hygiene and sanitaion issues to start with. Start by exploring further what else needs to be done:

"As such no generation of humanity has full and absolute right to dominate others on the earth."
That's exactly what you're trying to do!! "Eco-friendly" products are pointless and ultra-expensive. Start in your own backyard, then move upstream/upwind for change....as a voluntary choice.

well i feel its all because of money crisis!
with people of india giving taxes & cess on these & for establishing eco friendly institutions the ministers are chanting"APNA SAPNA MONEY MONEY". THEY HAVEN'T GOT TIME FOR SUCH STUFF EXCEPT IF SHOW THEM THE GREEN SIGNAL I MEAN LEAVES OF NOTES.
Individually i feel its of no work, if we really wanna do something we need to study , earn & that to a lot so that we could open our own clubs and all where we'll be economically independent!!
4 lazy guies i think better keep ur fingers crossed & hope somebody else does the thing before u plan to do it!!!
if possible i'll help {if i'll earn enough money}

You will find that eco-friendly products rarely are. They are just products the left likes to push so that they can pretend to be responsible and moral.

because it has other priorities to think about.
india is a poor country and cannot afford to use more expensive means to curb green house gases. that is why it is asking the west to donate money for making india green.
a person in the US produces about two hundred ? times more green house gases than an average indian .
