My autistic son has been mainstreamed in a reg ed classroom. Until this year it has been a working set up for him. The difference this year is his reg ed teacher treats him like he's nothing but a pest. I have been to the classroom several times and each time she runs it like he doesn't exist. I also heard her request that a "toy box" be placed in her room filled with things to keep him occupied quietly so she doesn't have to deal with him, keep him out of her hair. I've been told that they've sent her to conferences about autistic children but its like in one ear and out the other. She's been reprimanded by my son's case manager several times already. She's been reprimanded by my son's teacher from last year. And now I think she got my son's para (the one who stays with him all day to monitor him and basically be his teacher) fired or taken off the case because she's complained and she genuinely cares about my son. Please help... who should I go to and with what?

does one have a fighting chance to go to college. What degree will a person not be able to obtain or allow to go for a degree. Will the cost be less due to the disability or will a school just take the money from the student and leave him hung out to dry.

I think my daughter has one of them. The school hasn't been helpful. They keep saying ADHD. I know she can pay attention for an hour on coloring but at school she seems to be having problems with everything. She has problem with changing activities, noises touch, following directions, behavior issues. I told the school she scored a 156 on a PPD and they (the school)said it could be of other things. At 3 ys 11 months she had a 25-20% delay in all areas(gross motor, fine motor, pre writting, cognitive,lang,self-help personal) .She is now 5 and had delays in all areas except cognitive.Which, I'm getting another opinion. She can talk 3-4 woords at a time. She is going 2 specialist ,a Neurologist and a sensory eval.So I can figure out what is wrong with her. Do childern with a lot of delays usually have a form of autism?

Is it because there are people answering who do not know English or is it some sort of "internet shorthand" that I'm not familiar with? I am appalled by all this, especially since there is a spelling check available to us! I would be more inclined to take this site seriously if the people answering (or asking) seemed more intelligent. Please help me!

My daughter had delays in all areas except congitive,(I'm getting a another opinion, you can't trust the school. They already made some major error on her IEP. They keep saying ADHD. They have her on behavior management, first the school said it was working and now after vacation they said it's not working. I don't think my daughter has ADHD, I took her to a child psychologist and I have to go back bec he isn't sure what is wrong with her. I now have to take her Ped Neurologist and also to a sensory eval. I was wondering does anyone know of kids with ADHD with delays in all areas? Also, I've been told by 2 different stories by 2 DR that coffee slows a child with ADHD is that true? Then another Dr said it won't?Has anyone with ADHD gotten tired from drinking coffee? The reason why , I ask is bec coffee makes my daughter hyper.
