Contact a speech-language pathologist. Speech therapy can help you learn techniques to reduce the occurrence of stuttering or stammering. You may not be able to eliminate stuttering altogether but you may achieve a more fluent manner of speaking. Good luck to you!

Hi. Some stammering is normal and everyone does it. Stuttering is more serious, but often treatable. Stuttering is composed of some combination of repetitions, prolongations and blocks (when someone can't get the words out at all). It is often exacerbated by tense situations, such as having to speak in front of a group. The person to give you help with this problem would be a speech therapist. Depending on where you live, there might be a unversity with a graduate program in speech pathology. They may have a clinic which offers therapy at a low cost. You may want to contact the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). Their website is WWW.ASHA.org
If you are not located in the USA, they should be able to refer you to a similar organization in your home country. The US phone number for ASHA is 1-800-498-2071.
Good luck! Kathryn

Much of training for stammering consists of teaching the person to slow down and plan words silently in their heads before speaking. There are people who do this professionally, but I don't know costs. I've heard that assigning a word to each finger can help slow you down and keep you on track for speaking, but I haven't used this. Deep breaths and pauses before speaking will help as well.
I know that stammering can be an embarrassment and trouble work and personal relationships. I hope that you can find help for this!

Go to the Library and get a book of Tongue Twisters. Hopefully this will loosen your tongue.
