I teach high school special education science. I want to start the new semester using my classtime more wisely and giving the students less "free" time.

Have something set up each day that they have to observe and write guestions about. For instance if they walk in and on the observation table they see three different kinds of stones, They would need to describe them and say what they know about them, what they need to know about them, or what they would like to know about them. What can you do with them, have they seen them before etc?

i think you are one of the people who are THINKing BIG.that is what i propose you to do,we students if we are not guided we end up having much free time.you do that even they will not accept.
