if a child is statemented and on medication and needs special needs education,out of the two nearest special needs schools one we have been advised proffesionally not to go there and the other 15 miles which would mean 60 miles per day travelling, are there any alternatives excluding home tuition.
help help help.

This labour government has ploughed billions into eduacation. They say everyone should have the same chance. How can everyone have the same chance if Ruth Kelly is sending her child to a £15,000 a year private school, just because her child is dyslexic. There are millions of kids out there who are the same, they can't afford to go to a private school. So tell me how are these other kids having the best education?

It's been hard for me to get out of restaurants into computers due to my learning disability because people won't give me the chance to learn the work. I don't understand that because self-destructive people with no disabilities get all the breaks.
I need to get and HUD house or apartment as well. I wish I knew someone with my disabilities, but don't. I don't know where to go?

My son who is 4 is autistic and still not potty trained. We have tried EVERYTHING. We have him in regular underwear, take him to the bathroom automatically every hour and tell him to go, we have pictures of all the steps to use the toilet up in the bathroom, his preschool and babysitters are using the same thing to keep consistant yet he will not let us know when he needs to go. Any ideas on how to get him to prompt us when he needs to go? I am afraid he will start kindergarden in pull ups and i don't want that for him!

We live in georgia and have a student who has an IEP. We are very dissatisfied with the IEP based on what the county school system has to offer.
The year is half over and we do not beleive that the school is meeting the needs of our student who has problems w ith reading comprehension amonst other learning disabilities - he had Ed, but they have been resolved. What are our options if the county and state do not sufficiently address his issues? We moved from VA and they had much better options.
Are there education consultants or advocates who can help?
