I was watching the nine o' clock news and they did a report on the educational system in Texas. It is required that high school students in Texas have two to three years of mathematics and science. The school board wants to add another year or two of more challenging math and science courses to make students better prepared for math in college. I have to disagree. First, I realize you need to take college algebra as part of the core curriculum but math is not going to be everyone's focus. What if someone wants to major in history and become a public historian? The job requires research, written and oral skills not math. Communications requires you to be good with English not math. No one is going to need to know geometry for that. Second, if a college student majors in Chemistry then t math is fine. Third, most students have a hard time grasping math. I suck at math and was always better at language arts. I think the students need to make the decision not the school board.

Man, I'm so pissed off today after I got my mid-terms. I have parents who work over at the factory, and now I'm ashamed and afraid that I will carry on with their careers.

Someone please tell me what I could do. I don't want to work over 80 hours a week at a factory.

Okay I have a big problem. I suck with time managment. I have extracuricular, sports, and classes after school most of the week. And of course school. Right now I have all A's, but I'm currently in no AP classes right now. I really want to to switch into AP... Other than quitting extracuricular, can any give my some tips and websites on teen time managment and how to handle extracuricular, living my full high school potential. Also I would like some tips on having the perfect high school life (looks, social life, extra curicular, grades, everything, etc.) (How do people handle millions of extracuricular, have perfect body and looks, relationships, friends, etc?...Why is it so easy or easier for them but not for me?)

Today, I had a presentation on PowerPoint due and it was supposed to be automaticly going. I finished a couple days ago but after seeing some other classmates' projects, mine looks awful. I decided to add custom animation to it but since it has to be automatic, when I play my presentation, the animation doesn't show up! How do I make the custom animation automatic? My family is moving to sri lanka in a year and I really hate the idea. I really don't want to move! I really want to go to a boarding school because i hate my sister. I know most people 'hate' siblings, but I truly do, and it's sad and all, but I just want to get away from her!!!!!! She kicks me on a regular basis and she is getting a nintendo for being 'good' even though she swares at my brother and me and ugh... my parents are really unfair. If they get me a gift, it's because I paid for it, or it's because I have been bgging them for at least a year... seriously! Are there any good boarding schools for 12 year olds? I think anywhere in the usa is ok... if my parents are moving to sri lanka, anything shorter is ok... but i like it in the USA! Even if I am italian!

Hi, I am really interested in going into the medical line of work when I get older. But I am still in High School right now.

What I want to know is what courses I need to take in:
Grade 9?
Grade 10?
Grade 11?
Grade 12?

Please be specific, I don't want "science" courses, I would like to know what type of course, like "Biology". Please be as specific as possible.

Also, I live in Canada, in Ontario. What would be the best University/College to attend?

I'm a freshmen in high school and I'm 14. I really want to read an new book, something that will hook my attention. I just finished Flowers in the Attic and that was really good. This time I really want to read something about city life. I already read the outsiders, so don't suggest that. I was thinking about reading Less Than Zero or Bright Lights, Big City.
