Take English courses every semester without skipping any

JOIN THE DEBATE CLUB -- legal argument is very similar to formal debate

Take chemistry and physics (much modern law has to do with technology and the results of experiments -- you have to be comfortable with the lab bench and scientific method for these situations)

Math (especially algebra and geometry)

History

In high school, you really should delve into a little of everything, which is generally what you have to do anyway because of graduation requirements. When you have electives, go for extra history and language classes. Join the debate team and/or speech team.
