There is a huge pressure for today's student to go to college. There are many meaningful and/or rewarding jobs that do not require a college education, yet may benefit by some life trainig or technical school. What are your thoughts?

honors biology
honors spanish
honors u.s history
adv. alegebra ii
geometry
english ii academic

i'm stressing out so much and it's only been four days since school started...and i play basketball for my school and i usually have practice like everyday.

i don't know what to do. the teachers are too fast for my pace, and i really don't want to drop a class...i'm working my butt off and i'm scared to death that my gpa is going to drop...

and to add to that, i don't have many friends at school and usually skip lunch which is pretty sad
please help me. i need advice

should i ask my guidence counselor to change my teachers?
or should i drop a class? (a very disliked choice, i'm prob. gonna feel like a quitter and pretty stupid)
or should i try my best, fail, and continue hs with a low gpa?

eh. advice would be nice.

I don't want to be asked at my next performance review if I would be willing to accept a 75% pay cut because there are 200 Mexicans standing at the door who will do my job for even less than that. I want my son to learn Spanish electively, not because he needs the skill to make it through the day. I'm sick of hearing "Para espanol, oprima la estrella" every time I make a phone call. Surveys report that approximately 85% of Americans oppose the North American Union and the Reconquista, or Mexican Invasion. If everyone speaks about this, the politicians will have a harder time denying that it exists, thus making it more difficult for them to sneak it in the back door on us.

do the merit badges have to be earned in your council or can you earn them elsewhere. My step son is enrolled in Boyscouts here in Ohio and working towards his 1st class so he can goto Philmont. Is he able to work on these merit badges in a different state when visiting his mother?

Ok, so i am a sophomore at the U of I, currently I am a pre-med student, and I really want to attend medical school at UIC, in Chicago. I would like to transfer to their campus next year to continue my undergrad courses, but everyone is telling me that its a stupid idea. Granted, my friends want me to stay, but U of I is also said to be the better school. If I do well here, and I do well there, is there really that big of a difference? Im sooo confused, but I need to figure it out soon because of housing.

I am from Canada but wanted you to all know that my thoughts and prayers are with you on 9/11.
I will never forget the call I received from a friend telling me to turn on my TV and then hung up. For one solid week I could not leave my set. Tears were shed for days watching the horror unfold in front of me. It was a nightmare I cannot imagine anyone going through.
To all those who lost loves ones in this disaster, and to all those heroic men and women who helped, my heartfelt prayers are with you.
I'm sure you are all being remembered around the world. I just wanted to reach out personally to you all.
May God be with you as memories once again surface.

I'm a smart student and for the most part did well in school as a kid, I have plenty of friends and a great life, but school hasn't been working for me. Its not like I'm a slacker or anything, but the way the school system is set up is driving me crazy. hours of writing and repeating just wears me down and turns me bitter. I'm going to an independent study high school right now but I'm starting to see I wont last at it. I like the stuff I'm learning and I love to learn but the way school does it just hasn't worked. I don't know where to go from here. i know i cant last through another 3 years of high school and keep up good grades. Is dropping out really so bad if I do other things to be smart? And is it really so hard to make a good life (and a good living) as a high school drop out?

Seems like the day is still 24 hours long and an hour is still sixty minutes and while science and technology allowed us to do more, the time stayed the same. People used to enjoy bus rides, now people work with their computers while riding the bus.Seems like the hurrier you get the behinder you end up.

Is there some kind of contract that one needs to fill out that states what is the amount of time a body can stay buried? I know that there is no possible way a cementary could bury the whole world over time since they need to make room for that, especially since populations are every increasing....Just curious...i mean im sure there are restrictions for famous people but what about regular old joes...what happens to their coffin, tombstone, and the body in general??? im sure the generations to come will forget about their ancestor(s), but what about if one of them wants to look him/her up?

First of all, I would like to thank all of you for electing me as Spirit commissioner last year. It was loads of fun dressing up on Spirit days and making up new Spirit days, and that’s why it shouldn’t be a surprise that I would like to be on student council again.
