haha.
im gonna assume youre in high school. trust me when I say you guys barely do any actual work in school, wait till you get to college (if youre going)
and because you need to practice, as well as retain the subject matter. Otherwise it's pointless.

It shows the teacher whether or not you've taken in what happens in the classroom (because you can do it at home).
It gives you extra practice, there isn't enough time in the school day to revise everything.
It shows the teacher that you can find information independently (like when doing projects and such). It teaches you to find resources outside of the classroom.
It helps you work independently, teaching you self discipline. If you go onto further education, or a trade, you'll have to be able to do this. So this is a way of getting you used to it.
I know as a student, I couldn't figure out why, but learned to appriciate it later on.

Because a lot of people don't absorb much information by just watching someone (the teacher) do something. When you go home and do your homework alone you are learning a lot of the material by actually practicing it.
This happens in math a lot, some people say they can't stand math, for example. Many of those same people sit in class and take notes and think that just because they understand what the teacher is conveying at that time, then they will know how to do it come test time. Then when the test comes they realize they don't know what they are doing. When you actually do your homework, the information sticks in your head much more and you gain a more complete understanding of it.

teachers need to learn about a chill out period.
you go to school all day to learn after school should be a chance to chill out and enjoy the rest of the day,
i agree with home work thought as it teaches us self eduction and its also revision so you remeber it.
but it should only be about an extra hour a day
some people wont think that is fair either as some have parents that want them in early.
but the reason i think you should be able to spend most of the time after school just chilling out and having fun is that if you spend all day (literally) doing school work then people are going to get bored and then eventually they lose intrest.
school's should come up with a new way of teaching where its fun and exciting and at the same time still learn the same amount of stuff.
but i suppose at the end of the day thats life.
and your going to need a decent job when your older and alot of kids dont realise when they say what are we learning this for i dont need this for the job i want
but if people thought further afeild like when thwey have kids and they ask you to help them if you dont know the answer that gunna make ya feel thick
so everything you learn is important
and its not forever.(but may feel like it)

Some students learn best by working out problems for themselves. Some learn best by listening to a lecture. Public school teachers have to use many different methods to teach because they have many different type learners in their classes. Homework teaches the ones that did not learn by methods used in class.

because teachers don't care about us. they are grown adults that get 3 MONTH VACATIONS just like us "little" kids. you'd think taht after that much time off they'd have a heart and be in a good mood. they don't even have to do any work, yet they are always the one in a bad mood. they always say how they are stressed, when really all they have to do is grade. i hate it that.. after all the homework, tests, quizzes, and projects that we get from teachers, we are supposed to come to school with a good mood and a good attitude as if they are making our lives better, and then the teachers are rude all the time (when they do absolutely nothing). i think they give homework bc they are all in competition with eachother to see who can break us down the fastest.there is no way that they had to go through all of this that we are going through in their years of school. TEACHERS ARE HYPOCRITES!

Homework is good because it enables you to learn more.
By doing homework you also learn how to prepare yourself for later on in life when you will be very busy trying to get ahead in the world.

I wouldnt mind school half as much if theyre wasnt homework. there is nothing worse then coming home dead tired from practice and having do homework or typing a whole essay or completing a project worth 30% of your term grade. It just plain sucks

So you don't forget what you did. You know you would. Most students [ractice automatic mind erase the minute they leave the campus. Sure, you hate it now but you'll be glad for the knowledge you have once it's all over. Just wait.
