You are correct. Your name and address first, in the top right, and then slightly further down on the left, the employers name and address.

Firstly, you must have a CV or no employer will take you seriously, this must contain all your personal details, educational details and qualifications and career history, including work experience. Try also to point out your key skills. Your covering letter then should be addressed personally to the contact at the company and should be short but not abrupt. If you have experience relative to the position advertised, it would be a good idea to mention it, not in details, but just saying that you are interested in this position as you have held similar positions before, or worked for a similar company, that kind of thing, at the end of the letter say that when you would be available for interview and that you are looking foward to hearing from them. Keep it as professional as possible, and not as though you are writing to a personal friend. Don't grovel or over do it when trying to impress, as long as all your information is on your cv, you should be fine. Good luck.

Yes, that will be fine. Think about whether you want to include your name in the top part of the letter, as you will probably be putting it on the bottom anyway. If you're hand writing the letter think about printing your name and address on the top centre of the letter (in a border?) to look like headed note paper.

In applications, one writes his name and address at the bottom and not at the top. Top for writing name and address is for writing letters to govt. departments and other authorities on matters other than applications.

Hi

Good to send covering letter, but would suggest that you just put your name on the letter at the bottom then sign below, but name and address on CV, most employees work from CV.

Hope this helps good luck with your job

If you're adding the covering letter to your resume, it's really not necessary to put it on the letter at all. Your resume holds all that kind of information. You could put your full name in a header or a footer. Good Luck in your job hunting :)
