My math teacher is from Africa and hardly speaks English, so there was a huge communication barrier, and on top of that, I've just always been bad at math.

So I just stopped going to class after about the first month.

Now I've been trying to e-mail him and meet up with him to talk about dropping the class, but it's been almost IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of him. So now I'm just taking a really really low F.

I know it's just my first semester, and I'm taking the class again next semester, with a much better teacher....things shouldn't be too bad right? RIGHT????

For my first semester of college I'm getting all A's and one C. The C is due to my negligence of the class. It wasn't hard, and I didn't go to the class. I missed in-class quizzes, so it has brought my grade way down. It's only an elective, and I have learned my lesson early on. Should I be as upset as I am?

I am a freshman at college. This semester I worked harder then i EVER have in my entire life!!! never went to any parties the entire semester because I felt I needed to focus on my grades hell, I never even had much of a social life.

Well, I took my first final today and did TERRIBLE!!!!!
I got a 69%

My grades for my classes have pretty much been posted
A = freshman seminar class
B = English composition
B/C = Intro. to music literature
C = Psychology
C = Intro. to criminal justice

I'm so upset with myself right now!!!
AND I'm transferring and with those kinds of grades I'm never going to get into another University!!

I honestly just want to quit!!!!
Maybe I'm just not smart enough for college!!!

Do you think these scores will help me that much?

It's my dream school, but it's a fairly long way off, so my family (none of whom believe in college) refuse to talk majors with me. Is it possible to go to UCSD, go to graduate school, and then go off to a big firm to be an accountant?

Please, help me if you can!

I have read about the low acceptance rates for transfer into Brown, Yale, or Harvard.
What I would like input on are my chances of admission and suggestions for improvement in activities/ classes/ grades.
I am currently a freshman at Boston College, looking to transfer into Brown, Yale, or Harvard for my sophomore year.
My gpa for the first semester of classes is a 3.766. I took: Biology I, Perspectives (a philosophy and theology class), Calculus II, Biology Lab, and History of Theater.
I took 2 credits more than students usually take. Next semester I am going to overload as well--I'll be taking 3 more credits than usual. My classes will be: Biology 2, Perspectives, Micro Economics, Acting I, Ear Training. Note: perspectives is considered an honors level class.
My ACT scores were:
composite: 33
English: 34
Math: 31
Reading: 34
Science: 31
Combined English/ Writing: 33
Activities: 1st oboe in university winds ensemble, oboe and voice lessons, a gospel choir, a jazz voice group.

I'm just a little worried my college application won't be right for "older" people or they won't be able to relate to it the same way as say, someone in their twenties.

I want to be a pharmacist but I'm having some problems applying for college. I heard that students interested in pharmacy spend their first two years taking regular college courses and then take a test to get into pharmacy college their third year. (correct me if I'm wrong) Does that mean that I can apply for any college that I want to as long as they have a prepharmacy major?
(I mean, I really want to get into this private college right now but the thing is, there's another college that HAS a college of pharmacy in their campus which is also pretty appealing but if given a choice, I'd rather go to the private college.)

I'm currently a 10th grader in a public high school.In 9th grade i got a C for first semester in Bio H and two Bs for second semester(rest are As).....which is a 3.6 unweighted....I heard if I have a C that i barely have a chance at ivy leagues or any top schools like Berkeley, or Stanford. Right now i'm struggling with a C+ in my trig h class...everything else I have a A in...i have three honors and one AP, I'm also in NHS and other top clubs, along with community service...Can someone tell me the extent of the damage to my chances at a top school IF i happen to get a C in 10th grade? I'm also taking CM Piano level 8 examination, SAT II Chemistry and SAT II World History this year, and have trained summer for SATs....my diagonstic SAT I is around 1900s. I had sport last year but my mom forced me out.

Academic: Sydney NSW State top Boys Selective School. Ranking around 10-15/150 in most subjects, slightly higher in some and slightly lower in others. For Year Twelve planning to study: Maths Ext.2, Maths Ext.1, English Ext.1, English Ext.2, Chemistry and Economics.
(Does not studying history lower your chances???)

Languages: Fluent in Chinese writing, reading and speaking.
Beginner in Japanese.

Sport: Martial Arts, Badminton are the main ones.

I also play the piano with Credit at 8th grade. Planning to get 2 years of work experience by the time I apply.

Please rate my possibility of admission out of a scale of 10. (10 being almost certain, 0 being impossible)
Also welcome to add any suggestions on subjects or acticities to make it more likely for a position.
