my point is, what are U supposed to really get out of an college education. It seems to me that people come out of the ivory tower
thinking up all these retarded things, but I feel the only truly educated ones our those whom end up as scientists or naturalists.they tend to see things as they really are,not as they like the world to be.

I'm in college and I feel like maybe I'm naive and I'm not studying enough. All of my classes seem easy/fine to me. I haven't had any trouble. But it seems like everyone else is spending a lot more time studying.

I haven't had any tests yet (my first are in two weeks), and I do my homework for classes every day. MWF I have three classes and I do homework for about... Three or four hours. Maybe a bit more. Tues/Thurs, I have two classes and it takes me two to three hours.

I haven't actually "studied" anything yet. But I plan on doing so about a week before the tests.

Is that stupid of me? I feel like I'm fine, but I don't want to not study and then realize that I really should have.

i'm a sophmore in high school right now, and i want to either major in medicine or culinary. as for medical, what do you suggest i take in hs? ex. honors classes, clubs, etc. i need guidance & i hope you users can help me.

right now, my classes are-
honors biology
geometry
honors u.s history
english academic
adv. alegebra 2
honors spanish

do i mark up to the standards? do i even have a chance to get into a good college? my gpa is currently 3.8777, and i feel that the classes i'm taking right now are not considered "a medical futured student" to have. do i have to be super intelligent, be two math classes ahead, all honors, to become a successful student? to be honest, i'm not that smart of a person, and i don't know whether my classes will cut it. everyone that have given me advice have told me, "all honors, straight a's, involvement..in higher classes than your average collegue/student friends" to me, that seems impossible....but i don't know.

I'm in my third year of college and ever since I started my freshman year it seems as though I haven't wanted to be here. I never like going to class, I hate doing assignments. But it's not like I did bad all my life, in high school I was an excellent student. My mom thinks i'm home sick, which isn't true because I absolutely hate the town i'm from and never want to go back. Anyway, i'm starting to think college isn't for me. I really want to travel and pursue a photography career, but I don't want to go to college. Is there any advice to a 20 year old college student who wants to drop out? and is there any other way that I can pursue photography without going to school?

Most of my friends having been paying their school loans back for years..and some have screwed that up.

Any way I just have a HS diploma and I make over 190K, I've had 3 different jobs since I was 21...the truth is I lied about my college background and no one has ever checked it out. The current company I work for (marketing btw) never checked it out or asked me about my "degree". Last year after I finished first in sales in our office (the 5th year in a row) I came clean with my boss....he just laughed and said he didn't give a damn...just show me the MONEY-BABY is all he said. I've recieved numerous offers from competiors through my career but I've turned them down...even when it's been more money but they want me to move my family...my wife doesn't want to move.

Well........there's my confession, I used to worry that I'd be discovered but I could care less now and I thank God I didn't waste 100K plus on a worthless piece of paper and saddled with huge college loans paying the

I know in california, most colleges can be classified as private, UC, CSU, and community college. This helps me see what kind of college it is and what it has to offer... but now I'm thinking of going out of state.

Do other states have systems like in california? I'm thinking particularly of washington. But how can I find these state college systems? Thanks

I'm a senior in high school this fall. My GPA is around 4.65 weighted and 3.82 unweighted. My extracurriculars are only NHS, Science NHS, and leadership. I have only about 140 hours of community service.
My test scores: SAT reasoning: 1960
Biology E subject test: 640
US History subject test: 700
AP World history: 3
AP Biology: 4
AP US History: 4
AP Eng. Lang. and Comp.: 3
And the only thing that stands out about me is that I'm short.
I'm looking for places that have a medical school to move onto.

I am about to apply to college; however, I currently do not have a major in mind. I would like to send in my apps as an undecided/undeclared major. Will this lower or affect my chances of being accepted to the college?

I know it is better to try different subjects that I am interested during my first year to determine my major, but I'm worried that if I choose an undecided major, I might not be accepted to my target/reach schools.

Does declaring as an undecided major affect my acceptance rate? If so, would it be better to choose a random major then to switch after being accepted? Or should I just go as an undecided major?

(I am applying to all the UCs, Purdue, University of Illinois- UrbanaChampagne+Chicago (both UIUC and UIC) and SanDiego State University.)

Thanks to all the readers who took the time to read and help answer this question.

I'm interested in going into the field of engineering (biomedical or civil) and I'm a senior high school student. I want to find a good college in California that would be great for engineering. I've looked at Cal Berkeley, but are there any others to consider? My grades are pretty good (4.3 weighted cumulative, ACT 30, E.C activities etc.) so any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

I sent a package to a university student, but the package hasn't been received yet. It's been a week since I sent it. I checked the UPS website as well; it's been "delivered" to the university-- so why hasn't the package been received yet? Does it take time to sort out the packages?

Type: Package
Status: Delivered
Delivered On: 09/12/2007
12:43 P.M.
Well, Thursday and Friday were Rosh Hashanah. I'm not sure if mail at the university gets delivered over the weekends. UPS isn't open during the weekends, I think; I wouldn't be able to contact them.

If any of you would be kind enough to leave a response about my situation, I'd appreciate it.

Well, I am 19 years old and just started my second year at a community college.

My problem is that I decided to major in biology and become a doctor. So I went ahead and took a physics sequence that was intended for biology majors. Now, as I enter my second year, I've had a change of heart. I gained interest in mathematics and chemistry and want to become a chemical engineer. The thing is this major requires a physics sequence targeted towards engineers, meaning that I will have wasted two semesters worth of physical science classes and will have to go an extra year in spite of this.

My questions are... how bad is it going a 3rd year? Does it look terrible? Is it recommended that I pick a major that could meet the 2 year deadline?

Help me:(
