That depends on the institution and the department. Usually, projects or thesis at the bachelor's level are done to attain an Honors BA/BS

Two US institutions of offer a Ph B or Bachelor's of Philosophy. One of them requires you to dual major and to conduct research that integrates both fields of study and you have to defend it.

I would imagine some prestigious schools requiring thesis for an ordinary BA/BS, but I am sure they are like 30 pages or something not that hard.

The schools that require something like that have their own names for it. At the school where I went to grad school, the undergrads did Capstone projects in their major during their final semester. I've heard people who went to other schools refer to it by different names. Some schools only require this sort of paper or project from students in the honors program, so its referred to as their honors thesis, or something similar.

There is none, formally. An undergraudate degree simply means you made the grade in all courses attempted and have an advanced knowledge of things in general.

Technically you have a "sheepskin" that 81/2 x 11 thing with the seal. That's your paper. You have college degree.
